181. Eat This Bread, Live For Ever

Mike Parsons
with Jeremy Westcott

What is man that You take thought of him,
And the son of man that You care for him?
Yet You have made him a little lower than God,
And You crown (surround) him with glory and majesty!
You make him to rule over the works of Your hands;
You have put all things under his feet,
(Psalm 8:4-6).

It has always been God’s intention to have a people who would rule over the planet – and the universe – on His behalf. Man was to begin with the garden God made for him, and then go on to fill the rest of creation with the image and likeness of God. What was in heaven would be manifested on earth, and we would bring that rule of heaven to earth through our lives. We are made in the image of God, and are to be conformed to the likeness of Jesus.

Icons

The word ‘likeness’ means ‘to resemble’, and the Greek word is ‘icon’. We are familiar with that word in the context of computers and smartphones: the icon is not the program, but it is a representation of the program, and when you click on it, you engage with the program it represents. When people interact with us, that interaction should reveal the true nature of God Himself, and provide a means for people to engage with HIm.

Rebellion and sin distort and fragment the image of God, so that we do not represent Him effectively. But He desires to restore us and conform us back into His image.

DNA of God

Adam was a spirit light being, made in the image of God, and originally had 3 strands of DNA (the third strand being a strand of light, restored when we are born again). The DNA of God is His intrinsic spirit nature encoded in light. God has 3 x 3 strands of DNA (3 for the Father, 3 for Jesus, and 3 for the Holy Spirit), making 9 strands of light DNA.

The Father’s DNA strands are Grace, Justice and Judgment (Psa 33:5),
reflected in us in three fruit of the Spirit: love, joy and peace (Gal 5.22).

Jesus’ DNA strands are the Way, Truth and Life (John 14:6),
patience, kindness, and goodness.

The Holy Spirit’s DNA strands are Righteousness, Peace and Joy (Rom 14:17),
faithfulness, gentleness, and self-control.

The 9 stones which covered Lucifer’s body [Ezek 28:13] reflected the 9 light strands of God’s DNA. As light-bearer, he reflected the nature of God out into the whole universe. When he fell, the universe was deprived of all that light. Perhaps that is why 70% of the mass of the universe is so-called ‘dark matter’.

Twelve stones

Lucifer had 9, but the High Priest’s ephod had 12 stones: 3 stones representing the 3 strands of human DNA now added to the 9 light strands of God’s DNA.

The stones were arranged in a pattern, 3×4. 3 is the number of Kingdom government, and 4 is a doorway, portal or opening. When our DNA is joined to God’s DNA, it creates openings for the Father, Son and Spirit to manifest through us on the earth, so that people can gain a full understanding of who God is. Our DNA needs to be restored to its original condition, to the eternal image and abilities we should have.

Joined to the Lord

And 4 + 3 = 7, the number of perfection, where earth and heaven are joined.

But the one who joins himself to the Lord is one spirit with Him (1 Cor 6:17).

We can be joined to God genetically, His DNA entwined with ours; we can be transformed genetically, and be one spirit. This scripture speaks of an intimate relationship with God – beyond anything we can fully understand, but which God wants us to experience.

We can be baptised (immersed, filled) in the River of Life to experience the DNA of Jesus; in the River of Grace to experience the DNA of the Spirit; and in the River of Glory to experience the DNA of the Father.

Search me, O God

Search me thoroughly, O God, and know my heart; Try me and know my anxious thoughts; And see if there be any hurtful way in me, And lead me in the everlasting way (Psa 139:23-24).

When we ask, He will show us; and we will see our life reflected in the mirror of truth. Let’s not run from what we see; instead, let’s run to Him and embrace the transforming process He wants to bring about.

Eat this bread, live for ever

food-23453_640

When we break bread, we apply the body and blood of Jesus to deal with these things. We take the body and blood of Jesus and eat it, applying life to our marrow (the source of life within our bones), and speaking words of life to accompany it.

We have previously shared the Communion Prayer we use here at Freedom Church, and we will add it to the end of this post too.

For this is the will of My Father, that everyone who beholds the Son and believes in Him will have eternal life, and I Myself will raise him up on the last day (John 6:40).

Your fathers ate the manna in the wilderness, and they died. This is the bread which comes down out of heaven, so that one may eat of it and not die. I am the living bread that came down out of heaven; if anyone eats of this bread, he will live forever; and the bread also which I will give for the life of the world is My flesh (John 6:49-51).

There is a difference between eternal life and living for ever. The only reason I would die is if there is a record of sin within my DNA. I do not need to die, and neither do you. But we do need to undergo transformation by applying the body and blood of Jesus. Ian Clayton has met someone who is over 300 years old, still alive, but transformed and transfigured; translucent and shining. There are others too, and they do not look like you and me.

The body and blood of Jesus carry the record of the DNA of God. We can age and die, or we can take the body and blood of Jesus within ourselves, and live for ever.

So Jesus said to them, “Truly, truly, I say to you, unless you eat the flesh of the Son of Man and drink His blood, you have no life in yourselves. He who eats My flesh and drinks My blood has eternal life, and I will raise him up on the last day. For My flesh is true food, and My blood is true drink. He who eats My flesh and drinks My blood abides in Me, and I in him. As the living Father sent Me, and I live because of the Father, so he who eats Me, he also will live because of Me. This is the bread which came down out of heaven; not as the fathers ate and died; he who eats this bread will live forever (John 6:53-58).

Words: spirit and life

What then if you see the Son of Man ascending to where He was before? It is the Spirit who gives life; the flesh profits nothing; the words that I have spoken to you are spirit and are life (John 6:62-63).

We apply the words of Jesus, the words He speaks as the Living Word of God.

The valley of dry bones

Again He said to me, “Prophesy over these bones and say to them, ‘O dry bones, hear the word of the Lord.’ Thus says the Lord God to these bones, ‘Behold, I will cause breath to enter you that you may come to life…’” I prophesied as He commanded me, and the breath came into them, and they came to life and stood on their feet, an exceedingly great army (Ezek 37:4-5,10).

The breath did not enter a physical, flesh body. The very breath of God entered into the bones. In the middle of the bones is marrow, the source of life and the source of blood. We speak to our bones, that the breath would enter into our marrow and transform us.

We apply the body and blood of Jesus. We speak into our bones and marrow at the genetic level. We say, ‘be transformed into the image of Jesus; be genetically purified and transformed from one degree of glory to another; be transfigured and radiate glory’.

Whenever we eat, whenever we drink, we can take it as the body and blood of Jesus. With the words that are spirit and life, speaking to our marrow; we apply the DNA of God to transform our DNA into the eternal image of God that is our destiny.

Let’s do this regularly, every day if we possibly can, because there is awesome power in it.

Applying the body and blood of Jesus

I engage in the DNA of God
I embrace the transforming power of the body and blood of Jesus

I engage the record containing the light, sound and frequency of God’s image
I embrace the record of the dimensions of the kingdom released in my body by the DNA of God

I engage that DNA record and apply it to my bones
I speak to my marrow and command it to live
I apply the frequency of DNA to transform me into the image of Jesus
Transform every genetic record, re-sequence my DNA into alignment

I apply the blood of Jesus to transform all impure genetic material – be transformed
I apply the blood of Jesus to all iniquitous genetic patterns – be cleansed

I call all my genetic material to resonate with the DNA of God
and come into alignment with my eternal image
I choose to bear the image of my Father in heaven
I choose to bear the image of my Brother in heaven

Let the breath of God be breathed into my life, transforming me into a living being,
joined to the Lord and one spirit with Him

I speak creative words to my DNA to release the supernatural abilities of God
I trigger the ability to see in the realm of the kingdom
I trigger the ability to move in the realm of the kingdom
I trigger the ability to transform matter

176. Occupying Our Inheritance

Mike Parsons
with Jeremy Westcott –

And do not be conformed to this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind… (Rom 12:2).

We are to be transformed so that we will know the will of God for our lives, what our destiny is, ordained by God in eternity past, when we were a spiritual being.

We are all unique; we all have an individual destiny, but for each one of us it is to bring the rule of God into our own particular sphere of influence. God called Adam to subdue the earth and rule over it, to bring heaven to earth, so that earth would be a reflection of heaven. If we don’t know what it is like in heaven, we cannot reflect it here on earth.

The Promised Land

The Promised Land is an illustration of our inheritance, both physical and spiritual.

The “-ites” nations occupied Israel’s inheritance and were not about to simply walk out and vacate the land so that God’s people could walk in. Israel was supposed to take possession of the land – and there were things that needed dispossessing.

If we want to inhabit our inheritance and become completely whole, spirit, soul and body, we have to deal with those “-ites” that represent things in our lives. They are hindering and blocking God’s kingdom and the fullness of His provision for us, so we cannot afford to leave behind any little stronghold or pocket of resistance of the enemy, any familiar spirit, anything that can rob us of our inheritance.

When the children of Israel were challenged to enter the land, all kinds of thoughts and fears suddenly surfaced in them. They saw themselves as grasshoppers compared to the giants living there. Only Caleb and Joshua protested, “The Lord is with us; do not fear them”. We too may have giants in our lives: things which intimidate us, frighten us and stop us fulfilling the purpose of God. Thoughts may come into our mind to oppose us, stop us, and cause us to fear. But like Caleb and Joshua, we will come into our inheritance if we believe what God says and act on it in faith.

All the earth

But indeed, as I live, all the earth will be filled with the glory of the Lord (Num 14:21).

God will fulfil that promise. Not just a small piece of land in the Middle East, but the whole earth. If the nation of Israel had done what the Lord said, they would have taken the whole world (which was actually Abraham’s inheritance).

They did not, but we will.

Spiritual authority

For the anxious longing of the creation waits eagerly for the revealing of the sons of God (Rom 8:19).

Everything in the physical and spiritual sphere, the heavens and earth, is waiting for the true sons, joint heirs with Christ, to enter into in the fullness of our inheritance.

Lift up your heads, O gates, And be lifted up, O ancient doors, that the King of glory may come in! (Psa 24:7).

Heads are symbols of authority, and gates are access points. Each one of us has authority. We are called to be a head and not a tail. We are called to rule in our individual spheres. If we are lifted up to a place of authority we become gates for the King of glory to come into this world through our lives.

As we are lifted up, the ancient (or everlasting) doors are also lifted up, so that the glory comes from heaven to earth. In every revival (outpouring) an everlasting door is open. Everlasting doors are access points for heaven to invade earth, around our lives, in our spheres of influence. Scripture also calls them the ‘windows of heaven‘.

Tr13

The physical and the spiritual

We have to access heaven in order to deal with the nations, the dragons and the giants. It is no good trying to have spirit, soul and body to access the world, unless we have the spiritual authority operating in heaven. The enemy has taken possession of our spiritual inheritance. We have stayed on this side of the “river Jordan”, afraid to go into heaven. Religion has told us we could not go there, that if we did, we would die. But our thrones are there, and we should be ruling on them: we should be exercising the authority God has given us. If we do not rule, someone or something else will rule in our place.

Blood line and seed line

Our blood line and seed line iniquity can enable the enemy to occupy our mountain thrones in the ‘kingdom of God’ heavenly realm and block the everlasting doors.

Let’s consider Ham’s generational line:

When Noah awoke from his wine, he knew what his youngest son had done to him. So he said, “Cursed be Canaan… (Gen 9:24-25).

Ham was the father of Canaan, and Ham’s sexual sin and perversion can be seen in the increasing depravity of the eleven “-ites” nations and in Sodom and Gomorrah. The Canaanite gods and goddesses engaged in all kinds of sexual acts and their worshippers engaged in ritual prostitution, infant sacrifice and other deviant behaviour. They were totally impure genetically and needed to be wiped out. Joshua was instructed to destroy them to stop the iniquity continuing.

Each of us came from one or more of Noah’s three sons. If we ask, God will give revelation of what is in our generational line which needs to be dealt with. Even if something lies dormant and is not operating, it is just waiting to come to life. If we don’t deal with it now, it can affect us in the future.

The fourth generation

Then in the fourth generation they will return here, for the iniquity of the Amorite is not yet complete (Gen 15:16).

Abraham was promised all blessings in that territory, but only after the fourth generation had been completed. The fourth generation came, but turned back. Joshua and Caleb were its only representatives who remained in covenant relationship. They became giant-killers, king-killers and stronghold-takers. That is our inheritance.

Our Inheritance can be blocked by blood-line iniquity

Patterns of repetitive sin – rob us.
Negative influences – block our inheritance.

They can be hidden in our blood-lines but affecting us now. That is why we pray:

Search me thoroughly, O God, and know my heart;
Try me and know my anxious thoughts;
And see if there be any hurtful (wicked) way in me,
and lead me in the everlasting way
(Psa 139:23-24).

Nations and kings represent enemy activity, familiar and familial spirits, sinful and iniquitous behaviour patterns in our lives. Ian Clayton offers this list of the kings and cities which must be destroyed in us:

Josh 12:9
The king of Jericho, the king of the false Holy Spirit, breath or life or moon
The king of Ai, the king of the twisted perverted sins

Josh 12:10
The king of Jerusalem, the king of bitter waters (waters of false peace)
King Adoni-zedec, the king of the false accuser
The king of Hebron, the king of compromise with wizards and charmers (Some family lines have things like this witchcraft etc.)
King Hoham: the king of a great multitude of problems, who make a sound of war

Josh 12:11
The king of Jarmuth, the king of the high and haughty pride
King Piram, the king of bestiality; wild, acting like an animal, fierce and stubborn
The king of Lachish, the king of the obstinate hard and stubborn sins
King Japhia, the king of the false Christ, bright light, false light

Josh 12:12
The king of Eglon, the king of the false prosperity also a calf or bullock
King Debir, the king of false prophets – false words about God
The king of Gezer, the king of ambushes; high, hard-to-reach places
King Horam, king of religious spirits

Josh 12:13
The king of Geder, the king of strongholds against God

Josh 12:14
The king of Hormah, the king of suicide, secluded religious cult devoted
to death
The king of Arad, the king of lasciviousness, wild, uncivilised, out of control

Josh 12:15
The king of Libnah, the king of false reputation, self-justification, I’m OK
The king of Adullam, the king of Moab justice or violence, rioting

Josh 12:16
The king of Makkedah, The king of the false shepherds, false church leaders
The king of Bethel, The king of false churches, houses of God

Josh 12:17
The king of Tappuah, the king of the forbidden fruit, apple orchards
The king of Hepher, the king of depression, a pit or well of shame and reproach

Josh 12:18
The king of Aphek, The king of entrenched strongholds or sins you are holding on to
The king of Lasharon, The king of false rose of Sharon (Christ), beautiful valley

Josh 12:19
The king of Madon, the king of fighting and arguments
The king of Hazor, the king of problems as big as a castle, walled castles

Josh 12:20
The king of Shimronmeron, the king of the rebellious filthy task masters
The king of Achshaph, the king of the satanic wizards and sorcerers

Josh 12:21
The king of Taanach, the king of the wanderlust, walking blindly
The king of Megiddo, the king of mutilation, the self-inflicted wounds

Josh 12:22
The king of Kedesh, the king of false holiness
The king of Jokneam of Carmel, the king of false repenting and sorrow

Josh 12:23
The king of Dor in the coast of Dor, the king of rebellion
The king of the nations of Gilgal, the king of false liberty, grace to sin

Josh 12:24
The king of Tirzah, the king of selfishness, idolatry

Let’s go over this list and ask God to show us what is there in our generational line, which of these things is affecting our life, hindering the opening up of the everlasting doors. We should:

  • Pray ‘search my heart, O God’ (Psa 139:23-24)
  • Repent of our sinful behaviours
  • Identify patterns of iniquity represented by “-ites” nations and kings
  • Forgive our ancestors
  • Access the mobile court of God
  • Identificationally accept the accusations
  • Repent for the sin of our generations
  • Receive a mandate of divorce separating us from the effect of those things.

Then the everlasting doors can be opened in our lives, and we will be able to receive the fulness of our spiritual and physical inheritance. When we are transformed and changed, nothing in our life can rob us of the fulfilment of God’s promises for us.

Then the earth will indeed be filled with the glory of God.

136. Gateways of the Soul

Mike Parsons
with Jeremy Westcott –

We have looked at the gates of our spirit, through which we want God to flow from the inside out. Now we are turning to our soul gates.

Soul gates

Our soul gates are: conscience, reason, imagination, mind, emotions, choice and will.

Conscience

Our conscience is the ears of our heart. It is our protector and our director, our guard, and our guide. Our conscience will keep us from wrong and direct us to good. Sadly, our conscience can be dulled or seared by repeated exposure to sin (Titus 1:15). We need  our conscience cleansed, clear and sharp.

Reason

It is not that we reason and try to work it out with intellect: this is about being able to translate and interpret what God says to us, whether in scripture or other ways God uses to communicate with us.

Imagination

The eyes of our heart. It is absolutely key that we develop our imagination.

Our western culture and education system have trained us to neither use nor value our imagination. But our imagination was given to us by God so that we could see what He is doing; so that we could see visions, see dreams, see the heavenly realms, on the screen of our imagination. We need to learn how to use it again and train it so that it grows and develops.

Mind

Our mind, conscious and subconscious, is where the storage programs are. Here we find our memories, the things God has said to us, and belief systems. It is like the hard drive of a computer. Everything is stored there. The subconscious mind, our heart, sits somewhere between our spirit and our conscious mind. Memories, beliefs, values, lies, truths, mindsets. Jesus called this ‘soil’ and it can have all kinds of seeds sown into it.

Our subconscious mind is affected by our DNA nature, from our parents, that sets up defence mechanisms and coping mechanisms. Our patterns of behaviour come from what we believe. Nurture has an effect too: we have had a whole lot of experiences of life during our upbringing and education which train us to operate in certain ways. Trauma too, the things that happen to us and cause us to make vows and decisions based on our experience. All those things also get connected with familiar spirits assigned to our life. They know us, and they lie to us, in order to get us to operate from a false belief system.

All those things on the inside of us manifest on the outside in the way we think. So things like our reactions, our attitudes, our responses, fear, worry: all come from the inside and manifest in our mind.

When revelation comes, from scripture, from heavenly or earthly experiences, from the Holy Spirit, things can start to change. Then we have an opportunity of surrendering to Him, and He can deal with familiar spirits who lie to us. Our behaviour patterns start to come from the revelation of the truthof what God says (or from Jesus, who is Himself the Truth), especially about who we are. Our mindsets are based on the truth of who God says we are. Our attitudes, suggestions, the ideas that flow from our spirit into our minds are flowing from the inside out.

But if we do not deal with all those things on the inside we will continually have triggers which set us off thinking in a particular way, and that is where the conflict takes place. We have to be willing to allow God to transform us from the inside out.

Emotions

Our soul has emotions, where our responses and our feelings are, where we are moved, where we get those gut feelings. Emotions affect our esteem, our worth, whether we feel love, security, acceptance and value.

We have all had unmet needs. Maybe as a child, or in relationships, we did not receive all we should have received in the way of love, security, acceptance, encouragement and so on. Then we end up with low self-esteem, or disappointment in our life. Those can result in our feeling insecure, rejected, being dependent on other people, or in co-dependent relationships.

We try to get our needs met in these ways because we have not been in right relationship with God, and He is the only one who can properly meet those needs. We have looked to the world, and been hurt. We experience guilt and shame, and carry lots of unhealed hurts where people have let us down, and caused pain in our life. Since we have not learned to forgive and release them, this has set up anger, resentment, and bitterness, which are all emotional things.

Now those emotions can completely rule our lives – if we let them. We have to deal with them. They affect what goes on in our conscious mind and then they trigger responses all the time. Our behaviour does not just happen. Our behaviour derives from the things which are on the inside of us and God wants us to operate in forgiveness, and to be  restored, changed and renewed so that the strongholds and all the hurt and pain in there get dealt with.

Will

We also have a will. If we sin, through stubbornness or rebellion, our will is damaged and effectively becomes a barrier to what God wants to do. That sets up such things as unbelief, indecision, control, doubt and fear. As we deal with them, God wants to replace them with humility, confidence, boldness, courage, persistence, determination, perseverance, self-control (which is a fruit of the Spirit). All those things can happen if we allow God from the inside out to transform our life.

It is really important for us to understand what is going on inside us and how we operate. Some of us have been taught to peel back the layers to expose what is going on deeper down; that is OK as long as we don’t try to change ourselves from the outside in, because  if we approach it from that direction it is a battle we will ultimately lose.

If we focus on the problem, the problem gets bigger. If we focus on the solution, the problem gets smaller. In Jesus, nothing is impossible. Nothing will prevent God from doing what He needs to do, if we surrender to Him.

Choice

The final gate is choice. In the end, it all comes down to one question. Once we have cleared out everything which would lead us away from surrendering to God and allowing our spirit to rule, we still have to make a conscious, daily choice. What will we choose to do?

Let us press in, and get to the place where all these gates are flowing with the life of God and transformed. At the moment most of them are not like that. We cannot change ourselves. We have to invite God to come into those gates and transform us.

It would be really dangerous if the glory of God started manifesting through us, through an unholy life; dangerous both for us and for the people around us. He will not allow His presence to be manifested out of us until there is a holy life for it to flow through.

But He does want to manifest His presence through us.

135. Aligning Gates

Mike Parsons
and Jeremy Westcott

We have seen that God is on the inside of us, and that we want to allow Him to flood our whole being with glory so that we overflow to transform the world around us.

Yesterday we looked at each of the gateways in our spirit through which He wants to flow. Tomorrow we will look at those in our soul, but today’s post is a little unusual…

One of the things we have found really useful here in Freedom Church is to make a rotating cardboard cutout of the ‘gateways’ diagram shared with us by Ian Clayton. Then we can line up different combinations of gates and ask Jesus to stand with us in them and show us how the river of life should flow through that particular combination.

To make one, you need to print off four copies of the gateways diagram – or click here for one with the cutting circles already drawn on – onto thin card (you can print it on paper and stick it to card if that is simpler). Then cut them out as in the diagram below, so that you have four different sized circles.

Make a small hole in the centre of all four circles. Finally, fasten them together in order, face up, with the smallest on top and the largest on the bottom, using a split-pin type paperclip pushed through from the top. You might want to put some sticky tape over the ends of the splayed pin because they can be quite sharp.

There is an image of the completed spinner in the header image of this post (and below). You will see that the first love, hope, mind, and ear gates are aligned from the centre. Spin each wheel separately to line up any combination of gates as a visual prompt as you work through them.

134. Gateways of the Spirit

Mike Parsons
with Jeremy Westcott

This diagram is based on one shared with us at Freedom by Ian Clayton (sonofthunder.org)

“He who believes in Me, as the Scripture said, ‘From his innermost being will flow rivers of living water'” (John 7:38).

God has come to dwell in our innermost being. Now we want to allow Him to flow through us and out from us, transforming both ourselves and the world around us. As we open the gate of first love, we begin to allow Him to flood into our whole being.

And that is where some find the first blockage. As we have looked at our gate of first love, some of us have seen it blocked, closed, locked, even chained. But that is a projection of our soul. Even if our own experience of first love has caused us to put up barriers to intimacy (and I have written before about my own), we also have the ability to take them down again. We can clear it, unlock it, unchain it, open it. The enemy has no access here in our spirit. Jesus is knocking. Let’s let Him into our lives.

As we open that door of first love, the river flows out into our spirit. We surrender to the presence of God on the inside. In our spirit, there are different senses, or different actions of the spirit: we need to let the glory of God flow through these and activate them. It is the Holy Spirit coming through those gates, through those doorways in our spirit, coming out into our soul.

Fear of God, reverence, prayer, hope, faith, revelation, intuition, worship. And there is one more, our heavenly gate if you like, our access to heaven, which is back through that gate of first love into the heavenly realms, following the river of life back to its source.

The first few are to do with fellowship. The presence of God in us. Learning to identify and know God by experience of who He is, so we learn to fellowship and trust him in that place. And the others are to do with revelatory things, where God reveals Himself through us, where we see aspects of His kingdom, where we hear His voice, where we get to know what He is doing, and where He gives us visions and dreams and revelations of what He wants to do. Without the first, the second does not really function.

Fear of God

We need to understand that within us there is the all-seeing, all-knowing, omnipresent God. That is an awesome thing. God who has created the universe, and everything in it, has chosen to come and dwell within us. We become a habitation of God. We have to prepare that place for Him to dwell. The all-consuming fire of God is on the inside of us.

Fear of God is not the same as being afraid of Him. If I know God’s love, I will not be afraid of Him. But this is an awesome thing, to have Him dwell within us, and He wants us to know the awesomeness of His presence.

Reverence

Honouring and respecting God. We will do nothing that will bring His Name into disrepute or dishonour. We will seek to bring honour to Him.

Prayer

That is not getting on our knees, putting our hands together, and finishing it off with ‘Amen’. It is about two-way communication, where the Spirit of God, where the mind of Christ, where the heart of the Father, are flowing through us in relationship. That is why praying in tongues is so important: it is our spirit praying and communicating with God. And we can do that without ceasing, if we train it to continue even when our conscious mind is elsewhere.

Hope

That sense where visions and dreams and opportunities are flowing, where God shows us His will.

Faith

Harmony, concord, understanding, knowing: where we come together in agreement with God. We start to operate in the gifts of the Holy Spirit in the power of God as He flows through us.

Revelation

Inspiration, light, counsel, wisdom.

We need to activate these senses. They do not just automatically switch on.We need to be hungry and thirsty, desiring them.

Intuition

Gut feeling, instinct, knowing, as the Holy Spirit reveals the Father’s heart to us.

Heavenly

Back through our first love gate, our connection with the heavenly realms and a consciousness of what is going on in heaven.

Now all those are great, and you can have them all wonderfully working, but without one other thing, it doesn’t mean anything. And that is worship.

Worship

Worship is not singing. It is a state of complete obedience to God. It is complete surrender and total submission to the will of God for our lives, on a daily basis. Everything else that is flowing within us will lead to us saying, ‘God I choose to surrender myself to you’. That is what He wants us to do.

‘How to’

In the past, faced with this kind of exercise to work through, most of us would have thought and prayed about what might be blocking each gateway, and asked God for help in removing it. It might have been helpful for us too: peeling off outer layers of our issues, difficulties and blockages through traditional ministry.

But that is an outside-in approach. We want to allow the flow of God to work from the inside out.

I would encourage you to find Jesus on the inside of you, and take Him with you to stand in each gateway. Work through them one at a time, perhaps one a day. And not to assume that we know what any of the names of the gateways actually mean: ask Him to show you what that gateway means to you. Most of the blockages will have come from the outside in. Ask Him what they are. Ask Him to stand with you and work with you from the inside out to unblock them and allow the glory of God to flow through them.

It is all about feeling, sensing and engaging with Him: a very different way of working, but in our experience, very much more effective.

130. The Seat of Government

Mike Parsons
with Jeremy Westcott

Within us

The kingdom of God is within you (Luke 17:21).

If the kingdom is within us, what else is?

Our own spirit.
The Father, Son, and Holy Spirit.
The kingdom of God – the seat of God’s government of heaven
Our heart – our subconscious mind
The garden in our heart, in which we can engage God.
Rivers that flow from heaven, flowing through our spirit, our garden, and out to the world.
Our scroll of destiny, in our heart.

That is quite a list of what is in us, things we have to learn to engage with, and we have to understand how they all function in us, so that we can work with them.

Here is an outline image of a body, showing all those things within us.

Within Us (diagram)

You can see our heart, and within our heart there is a scroll. Our heart is our subconscious mind.

There is a throne, the seat of God’s government within us.

Where is our spirit? I was talking to Ian Clayton, and God started to speak to me about it. Our spirit man lives in a membrane which goes over the brain and down our spinal column. That membrane is not connected to the blood. That is important because our blood supply carries the record of our DNA and past generations, and it needs to be purified, cleansed and changed. So our spirit is not connected directly to our blood supply. It is connected through our heart.

There is a door in our spirit, that Jesus spoke about in Revelation 3:20. The Father, Son and Holy Spirit are dwelling within our spirit, and we have to let them out. God will not force Himself upon us. We have to open that door and let Him out, every day, into our spirit. Our spirit is within us and is connected to the seat of government in our lives.

The seat of government

When we are first developing in our relationship with God and we invite Him to come in and fill us, He occupies the seat of government in our lives. Then as we grow and mature, He gives us more and more access to that seat of government. The kingdom of heaven is both within us and in the heavenly realms, so we are also seated there in authority: we are seated with Him in the heavenly places.

He who is joined to the Lord is one spirit with Him.
(1 Cor 6:17)

The more we are surrendered, and the more we become transformed into His image, the more we experience the reality of becoming one spirit with Him. We start to rule together. That is what the kingdom is all about: ruling together.

That seat is within us and as we open up the door, God comes and sits on that seat.
Then we can invite Him to come into our heart. That is a phrase people often use when praying a prayer of salvation, but what does it mean? If He comes into our heart, He comes to change us and transform us.

The DNA of God

He comes into our heart, and starts to reprogramme our heart, and the blood that is in our heart, with the DNA of God. That is why we take communion, to be reprogrammed with the DNA of God, to be transformed by the life of God in us. Then that transformation spreads out from our heart, carried by our blood to our brain, where it transforms our thinking, and renews our mind.

Blood circulates. It goes around our body, and back again to our heart. In our natural bodies it goes to our lungs and picks up breath, oxygen. So in the spiritual sense our heart needs to draw life from our spirit, send it around the body to transform our life then go back to the spirit for more. That is what the heart does.

As we sit in the seat of government and rule together with God, the kingdom of heaven comes to manifest around us. Rivers of living water and anointing and power start to flow out through us. We learn to walk in His ways, keep His laws, and rule.

112. Transformation Through Communion

Mike Parsons
with Jeremy Westcott

Applying the Body and Blood of Jesus

We saw last time how in taking communion we can be transformed by the very DNA of God. Here are the prayer declarations we use at Freedom Church when sharing the covenant meal:

I engage in the DNA of God.

I embrace the transforming power of the body and blood of Jesus.

I engage the record containing the light, sound and frequency of God’s image.
I embrace the record of the dimensions of the kingdom released in my body by the DNA of God.

I engage that DNA record and apply it to my bones.
I speak to my marrow and command it to live.

I apply the frequency of DNA to transform me into the image of Jesus.
Transform every genetic record, resequence my DNA into alignment.

I apply the blood of Jesus to transform all impure genetic material – be transformed.

I apply the blood of Jesus to all iniquitous genetic patterns – be cleansed.

I call all my genetic material to resonate with the DNA of God and come into alignment with my eternal image.
I choose to bear the image of my Father in heaven;
I choose to bear the image of my Brother in heaven.

Let the breath of God be breathed into my life, transforming me into a living being, joined to the Lord and one spirit with Him.

I speak creative words to my DNA to release the supernatural abilities of God:
I trigger the ability to see in the realm of the kingdom.
I trigger the ability to move in the realm of the kingdom.
I trigger the ability to transform matter.

You can find a downloadable, printable version of this prayer for your own use (or for use in your church) here: Communion Prayer. Please feel free to share it. Best of all, write your own! Just as I did, find your own words to express what God shows you He wants to do in you – and is doing.

103. Familiar Spirits: Throne-takers and Destiny-destroyers

Mike Parsons
with Jeremy Westcott

In this series of blog posts we have seen how we need to enter into the realms of heaven and bring authority from that realm back into this one.

We need to know God intimately, and we need to know who we are. We cannot hope to rule unless we have a really close relationship with God. As His sons, His children, we can know our authority which comes from that place of intimacy.

We need to know our identity as kings and priests.

We need to live according to kingdom principles.

We need to rule in our own sphere, over our own house. We need to have authority in our own life, and it will overflow around us. That is our destiny. We are created, not to be failures or losers, but to succeed. When we rule as God intends, it will change our lives. Each of us can have charge of the courts in heaven which issue decrees over our own life. That is where God will deal with the accusations of Satan against us, in that realm. And in that realm we can receive court papers which enable us to rule and fulfil our destiny.

Sons of Light

God wants to display us as His sons on the earth: sons of light. Each of us can be transformed into a son, from glory to glory.

Before we were born again as Christians, we were human beings. Adam did not start out as a human being, you might be surprised to learn. He did not look like us when he was created. The glory, the light that was on him, was on the outside of his body. He did not have skin or blood as we do. God created him a ‘living being’, because the breath of God was breathed into him. But when he sinned and fell, he became a human being.

If he had not sinned but had followed God, he would have become a son of God, a godlike being, a being of light. God wants us all to be beings of light. He wants us all to be demonstrated and manifested as His sons on the earth. We can be transformed – the same word that is translated ‘transfigured’, by the way – we can shine, we can do the things that Jesus did, and greater things. We can rule, and bring this earth back into what was God’s intention before Adam fell.

Scroll Of Destiny

Each of us has a scroll of destiny. On that scroll God has written everything that we are to do in our life, everything that God has called us to. It was agreed and mandated before the foundation of the world.

Each of us has at least seven spheres of dominion and authority: seven thrones to rule on in our own life. Family, workplace, marketplace, school, college, street, neighbourhood, government: all kinds of places where we may be called to rule. For some of us, it is in our gift area: prophetic or evangelistic or administration and so on. For others it is in the church, where we are to rule in leadership, or one of the five-fold ministries, or youth or children’s ministries. Some are called into the education system, or the financial or government systems, where they are to demonstrate God’s kingdom.

There are many other areas where God might call us to dominion, and we need to know for ourselves where we are called. God’s call confers authority upon us to bring change and see things come into line with His purposes. Every one of us can transform the world in which we live; but only if we receive our authority in the heavenly realms and learn to exercise it here on the earth.

Most people have not seen that scroll. We can see it, we can read it, we can ask God to show it to us. It is on the inside of us, and He really wants us to know what is written on it because He wants us to fulfil it. Our scroll is unique, because God created each of us a unique person, with a destiny to fulfil. Let’s get hold of it. Let’s not be robbed of it.

What could rob us of it?

Familiar spirits

Some of you will have heard Ian Clayton speak about familiar spirits, and he has a really powerful teaching about them. I tell you now, we are going to war against familiar spirits, because familiar spirits are robbing God’s people of their identity, robbing them of their destiny to rule.

For I have heard many whispering and defaming, [There is] terror on every side! Denounce him! Let us denounce him! Say all my familiars, they who watch for my fall, Perhaps he will be persuaded and deceived (Jeremiah 20:10).

This is exactly what familiar spirits do. They can be on the inside or the outside of you: little voices whispering, defaming you, telling you that you are useless, bringing doubt and confusion. They tell you that you cannot be successful. They tell you that you are a failure. They tell you that you are going to stay in fear for the rest of your life. They tell you that you are no good. They lie.

Most of us will have at least half a dozen familiar spirits who speak to us regularly, unless we have dealt with them. We need to deal with them, because they are robbing us. They are the little things that you cannot seem to get over, but you need to. God is giving authority and mandating authority for us to deal with them. And we are going to war against them.

Throne-takers, Blessing-blockers, Rest-robbers, Destiny-destroyers

They are throne-takers. They deny your authority, they tell you that you are unworthy to rule.

They are blessing blockers. They cut you off from the blessing of God, from His empowerment in your life, and tell you that you will not succeed.

They are rest robbers. They stop you from enjoying the rest of God by getting you to strive and struggle in your own strength, whereas Jesus said “Come to Me, all who are weary and heavy-laden, and I will give you rest” (Matt 11:28).

They are destiny destroyers. They know that if you fulfil your destiny, their days are numbered. You will destroy them, together with their masters, and their masters too.

So we need to deal with these.

Fear

This is a big one for many. All our lives we are subject to the fear of death, as it says in Hebrews 2:15.

Rejection

Since Adam and Eve hid from God in the Garden, we are all born with that misplaced sense of separation which they have passed on to every one of us. No wonder we feel rejected – and the world just piles it on. Is there anyone who has not experienced rejection in some form in their life?

Pride

Pride will stop you from acknowledging who you are as a child of God. Pride is not only thinking you are something better than you are, it is about disagreeing with who God says you are. It is about agreeing with the enemy, who says you are useless, that you will never amount to anything.

Low self-esteem, worth, value

This will keep you from the success God intends for you. It will keep you down, make you believe you are worthless.

Insecurity

This will make you blind to who you really are: a child of the king, and heir to all that He has for you.

Doubt, unbelief

If you don’t believe it, you can never have it. Familiar spirits want to keep you in that place where you are no danger to them, where every word that comes out of your mouth builds a world of uncertainty and delusion around you.

Anxiety, worry

Those are just another manifestation of fear. They will seek to take your eyes off your destiny and fasten them onto short term difficulties in order to keep you from being effective.

Strongholds, mindsets, belief systems

These are more subtle, but if we allow God to reveal them, we will see how they have robbed us and caused us to miss what is going on right before our eyes.

God wants to deal with these things in your life. He wants you to receive a crown of royal identity. He wants you to receive your destiny. The trophy room of Satan is filled with those crowns, and it is filled with destinies of people who have missed theirs. We are going to go and get them back. Everything that belongs to us, everything that belongs to our family line that has been robbed in past generations, God is going to restore them to us. We are going to get things back we didn’t even know we had lost.

Rise up!

This is the day when all the mantles Satan has stolen are coming back to God’s people.

I want to see you go there and get it all back, because you need everything that has been stolen from you. You need to rise up in your spirit, and start moving. You need to rise up and get hold of your authority. You cannot read this and say, ‘well, that’s very interesting’, then carry on exactly as before and expect it to just happen. If you stay with this blog, you will not be able to do that; because we will be constantly stirring you up to pursue these things. God wants you to get militant about this, to get serious and not to allow yourself to become passive. It is the violent who take the kingdom, by force (Matt 11:12).

What do you want? To be under the enemy’s feet, or have him under your feet? Then you need to enter into the realms of heaven and take up your authority to rule in your life. You need to stop listening to the rubbish that is being whispered into your head. Listen instead to what God says to you, that you have authority to succeed because He has destined you for success.

Let’s pray together.

Father, I pray
with the power and the authority that you have mandated to me.

I exercise that authority
and I challenge the familiar spirits
that are operating in the lives of those praying with me.
I declare that you familiar spirits will not whisper,
defame and denounce the people of God,
but that you will come under their feet
and you will be crushed
and sent back where you belong.

Father, I declare in the name of Jesus
a revelation of sonship and authority and power
on these Your people today.

And I pray that you release their crowns of royal identity.
Cause them to rise up
to take hold of their destiny
and pursue it until it is fulfilled

Right now I declare the destiny of God
released over Your people
for them to get hold of in the heavenly realms.

In Jesus’ name.

Amen

47. Just One Answer?

Mike Parsons
with Jeremy Westcott –

Interpreting the times

Maybe you are old enough to remember all those books about the supposed significance of the Common Market being 12 countries, or about Communism and the USSR? Well, we can see now that none of it was true. Today those books are just gathering dust on people’s bookshelves, and if they were to read them now they would laugh. Dates, times, everything seemed so very plausible. But it didn’t happen.

That came about because the authors of those books just looked at the world around them, and tried to fit their own understanding of scripture with those events. We need instead to get revelation of what scripture is really saying. As I mentioned before, that involves seeing things from a Hebrew rather than a Western viewpoint.

Covenant

Take Biblical symbolism and covenant language. The whole Bible is written in terms of covenant. We even speak about the Old Covenant and the New Covenant. If you have never considered covenants then I do not have space to go into the whole subject here, perhaps the best advice I can give is to get hold of some of Ian Clayton’s teaching on covenants.

In short, covenants are binding agreements, and they are something that God has always used in interacting with people. God initiates covenants, and He makes them in blood. He always upholds His part of the deal. The sad fact is that the human race never upheld their part: at least, not until Jesus came and made a new covenant of blood with God. That covenant is unchallengeable because Jesus cannot fail: His blood is eternal. So we now receive all the benefits, all the promises, because of what Jesus has done.

The Old Covenant was all about what we had to do to be acceptable to God. That is no longer the case. But covenant is still the basis on which God works, and to understand the Bible we need to understand covenant language and how that covenant language is used.

Personal revelation

Again, because Jesus is the Living Word, He can give you a personal revelation of any word, any passage, any part of Scripture that He chooses. It may be completely out of the context it was originally written for, but He can still speak it to your heart and speak to you in it. That may be for you and you alone, in your situation and circumstance, and it may apply to nobody else. But it is vital that you have a proper overall understanding of the purposes of God. That will safeguard you from error so that whilst God can give you things like that, you won’t completely go off at some tangent because of some fanciful thing that you have made up.

For example, if you get what you think is a revelation that tells you to go off and rob the person down the road, you will know it is not God. You need to have understanding of the nature and the character of God, of how God works, so that you don’t go off the rails completely. You have to realise that not every voice you hear is God. Sometimes our soul can speak to us, particularly if we have a deep desire, and it can convince us that it is God telling us to do something, or that what we want to do is all right, when in fact it isn’t. Jesus can take His Word and apply it to us as He sees fit – we just need to be careful that it really is Him.

Plan A

My point here is that we need to understand the context of the eternal purposes of God. He hasn’t changed His plan. He has no Plan B, C or D.

Now, there is a teaching which says He has. You have heard it, maybe been influenced by it. You may not have thought of it in quite that way though. It is the teaching that prevailed in the town I grew up in, as I have written about previously. It divides up scripture into blocks and periods in which God works differently. It says ‘that is not for now’, and it denies the continuity of God’s purposes from Genesis to Revelation. If you read those two books, so much of the symbolism is the same. What it is in the beginning, it is in the end, and that is why it is so important to get understanding of it.

1 + 1 = ?

Our Western mindset is based on Greek, linear logic. For example: ‘1 + 1 = 2’. That makes sense to us. How could it equal anything but 2? Hebrew logic doesn’t see things the same way. In Hebrew logic (also called ‘open block logic’) there are multiple understandings which can all be true even if they seem contradictory to the western mind. And that is how God works. So in Hebrew logic, 1+1 can equal 11. It is the same proposition, but a different way of looking at the answer. And in Hebrew context, 11 is actually a much more likely answer than 2.

If that makes no sense to you, look at it this way. There can be layered truth. There is the obvious thing that is on the surface, but there can be layers of truth underneath, which may not be so obvious. The first layer of truth may be literal: Joseph was given a word that God’s people would be 430 years in Egypt and then they would be set free, and history tells us that was how it was. That is very straightforward for us to understand. But that word may also have further meanings, and they can be equally true, and equally valid.

There may be different fulfilments of prophetic words in scripture. Often there is an immediate or initial fulfilment that we can see, for example in the life of Jesus, and there is also a progressive fulfilment that goes on happening. Now this is not true of every single prophecy, but it is true of some. Therefore you cannot just read something, see how it was worked out once, and think that because of that is it over and done with. It may happen again, in a different way.

So which meaning is correct? What did God intend us to get from a particular scripture? The fact is, you do not always have to choose just one answer.

3. Choices: Constantly Connected?

Mike Parsons

Amos 3:7 tells us, ‘Surely the Lord GOD does nothing unless He reveals His secret counsel to His servants the prophets’.

God is speaking today: the key question is, are we hearing his voice? Jesus said “I have many more things to say to you, but you cannot bear them now” (John 16:12).

Parables

Until the Holy Spirit came, Jesus couldn’t reveal everything because he was speaking about spiritual things his hearers couldn’t understand. He used parables, but today God is using parables of a different nature because we have a different measure of understanding: ‘But when He, the Spirit of Truth, comes, He will guide you into all the truth; for He will not speak on His own initiative, but whatever He hears, He will speak; and He will disclose to you what is to come’ (John 16:13).

All the truth: that’s a lot of truth. Ian Clayton said he picked up a blade of grass in heaven because he wanted to know all of God, but the amount of information that was in that blade of grass made him drop it because it would have fried his brain. Because God is infinite, there is so much truth.

But still, the promise is ‘all truth’ and that means that everything is available to you: within ‘all truth’ God wants to reveal all that you need for your life and destiny. God wants to disclose what is to come for us as individuals, for our life, for our destiny in God; he wants to reveal the things he has already prepared for us before the foundation of the world. As that scripture tells us, the Holy Spirit came to reveal to us those things that are to come.

Your future destiny

Now the choice is, are you listening to Him? Have you seen your future destiny? If you have seen it, you can have it, that’s how it works. In fact you have to see it in order to have it, and you cannot have it unless you have seen it. ‘Faith is the substance of things hoped for’, that is to say, the things you have seen in the spirit. In the realm of the spirit, God wants to show all of us the things that are our destiny. He wants to show us what was written on our scroll in heaven before we were even thought of in a worldly sense (although in God’s thoughts we are eternal, we have always been with God, because he breathed his essence into us).

Constantly connected

Jesus was constantly connected. He only did the things he saw the Father doing and he only said the things he heard the Father saying (John 5:19). He was constantly connected to the realm of heaven and he has given us the opportunity to be connected too.

So what realm are you connected to? Are you connected to the earthly realm most of the time, and occasionally a little bit of heaven? Or do you constantly live in two realms? Can you be connected to both every minute, every fraction of a second, of every day? Twenty thousand times every nanosecond, Planck’s constant blinks us in and out of that spiritual realm (and a nanosecond is one billionth of a second). That’s a bit hard to get hold of but the reality is we are constantly connected – or we can be.

So what are you seeing? Whose voice are you resonating with? Who are you listening to? Are you listening to the voice of God or are you listening to other things?

4 sources of ‘wisdom’

James tells us there are four sources of ‘wisdom’ you can be listening to: wisdom from above (heavenly wisdom), earthly wisdom, natural wisdom, and demonic wisdom (James 3:15). Which of those are you resonating with? Who or what are you coming into agreement with? Because when you start to agree with the frequency of heaven, when you start to resonate with the heart of God, then heaven comes to earth through your life. So are we resonating with heaven (where God’s throne is), the atmosphere of the earth (where the battle is waged between the devil and the angels), this physical realm, or ourselves? Those are the basic choices, and the choice is ours.

Ten little 2-letter words: IF IT IS TO BE, IT IS UP TO ME. God doesn’t force it, he has given us free will to choose Him. In all of heaven and earth there are only two power sources: God’s and ours. The devil has no power source other than what we give him. And if we choose to agree with the enemy we choose to empower him, rather than God. Every time we say ‘yes’ to God we empower God and enable Him to operate. That is why he speaks prophetically. It enables Him to operate, because when we speak out of the prophetic realm of heaven, it can manifest on earth. That is because God has chosen to partner with us. It’s an amazing thing: God, the creator of the whole universe, has chosen to partner with us – and we have been given free will to choose to partner with him or not.

So what are you going to choose? What realm are you going to listen to? I would encourage you to listen to the realm of heaven, because what you see and hear there will engage you for your future and will reveal that future to you.

But the choice is yours.
