We need to see people restored—brought out of darkness into light. That will not happen by trying to destroy them or confronting them with the same spirit in which they operate. True change comes through love. However, this does not mean that we just sit back and allow them to do what they like—we can and should stand for what is good, for righteousness, and for peace and joy. Importantly, we are not required to cooperate with those who use their power for selfish ends. These individuals typically control vast amounts of money, the media, and many of our major systems.

Therefore, we must begin to consider how we can legitimately remove their power—by refusing to participate in their ways of doing things. Real change starts as a grassroots movement; you cannot simply remove individuals, as new people will always fill the vacuum. What we actually need is systemic change, so when people see that our current financial system only enriches the same few and keeps the rest in poverty, they must stop supporting and engaging with that system.

To achieve this, alternative systems—kingdom government, kingdom banks—are needed, systems where money is not used for usury or lining the pockets of the wealthy, but for good. It may mean moving money out of institutions that fund selfish agendas and into systems set up for the benefit of all. When the time is right, if people withdraw their money, those individuals lose much of their practical power.

But it is crucial that there be something positive to replace the existing system—one truly governed according to godly, heavenly principles. Chasing every new “prophetic” financial trend, such as cryptocurrency, is not the answer; these rely on infrastructures that could fail or be manipulated in much the same way as traditional systems. Instead, there are established alternatives already in place—cooperatives and credit unions, for example—which are designed to support people and communities rather than corporate profit.

Ultimately, genuine change is possible only as people themselves are transformed. When enough people change, society will inevitably move away from corrupt systems. We should expect resistance from those benefiting from the status quo, especially when new technologies such as free energy threaten entrenched interests. Historically, those with power have bought up, suppressed, or blocked such advances to protect their profits. If technologies that advance the common good are to be released, we need the right people administering them and providing the necessary finance—including for practical matters like community-controlled water sources, so no one can monopolise such basic assets when their value increases.

We must plan wisely, ensuring that whatever solution we pursue does not create a new set of problems, but genuinely serves people and fosters a just and sustainable future.

We need to get ready. I think now is the time to ask ourselves: what are the signs? What should we be aware of? We need to seek God, ask for discernment regarding what’s coming, and be prepared to deal with whatever may arise. The parable of the wise virgins is relevant—their lamps were filled with oil, but they also brought extra oil so they were prepared and their lamps kept burning. Likewise, we need to be proactive: ready and prepared.

This preparation covers all areas—building up health and wholeness now, being ready for whatever may come, whether that’s changes in the financial system, new forms of government, or presenting a new, kingdom-based perspective on the planet. It’s about legislating so that the enemy’s plans to rob and destroy come to nothing. We need to legislate for peace—proclaiming that there will not be nuclear war, civil war, or anything else engineered to bring chaos and destruction. Our role is to protect the earth from the significant changes that might be coming.

There may indeed be dramatic shifts ahead—major changes, such as increased solar activity, solar flares and radiation, or even changes in the gravitational field. No matter what happens, our call is to remain in a place of peace and rest, to be ready, and to engage with a governmental, creative authority as those made in the image of God. If something needs to change, we change it—not by simply repeating old patterns or creating yet another doomed system, but by calling things into being, by creating change in line with God’s original purpose.

We must abandon the tree of the knowledge of good and evil and instead pursue God’s original design for humanity and the earth. How would God have us live? Christians, as it stands, often struggle to live harmoniously even among themselves, let alone with others. We must move beyond division, set aside arguments over theology and doctrine, and instead establish relationship with God as our solid foundation—a plumb line for all else to align with. I believe this is where God is leading us.

More and more people are becoming disillusioned—with life as it is, with religion, with government. People are realising current systems simply aren’t working. Around the world, major democracies are seeing fractured outcomes—coalition governments in India and South Africa, for example, and a lack of representation for many in the UK’s first-past-the-post system. There is no longer a simple black and white; we’re seeing more of a ‘grey area’—a mixture of views and values, which is healthy. Coalitions, handled well, allow genuine balance, agreement, and sensible progress; it opens the door for decisions based on what’s best for people and for the planet, not just for the few who hold most of the wealth.

This shift means there’s increasing grassroots movement, protest, and people raising their voices—a trend I expect will only grow. Let’s legislate and pray that this will remain peaceful, and not be hijacked by those seeking violence and disorder. We’ve seen peaceful reforms before: Northern Ireland, for instance, moved from violence to the Good Friday Agreement, as people persisted, prayed, and worked for peace and unity. In South Africa, Mandela chose reconciliation over revenge, helping end apartheid, even if there are still challenges today. Major change is possible when people persevere for the good.

The fall of the Berlin Wall and the break-up of the Soviet Union were once unimaginable too, yet significant pressure from people within those countries brought about change. Even if new problems arise, the point is that change can happen—and we should be active participants, seeking wisdom, praying, and legislating for peaceful, transitional change.

Don’t just sit back and hope for change—let’s call it into being. Come together, enlightened, in unity, focusing on God’s heart and on the main thing: bringing about peace on earth and establishing God’s kingdom. The restoration of all things is what is needed—even those who have gone to the ‘dark side’ can be restored (as even in stories like Star Wars, Darth Vader’s true identity was rediscovered and restored). In the same way, fallen beings were not always lost; they were deceived down the wrong path, but there is no reason why they cannot be restored to their true identity.

Let’s be proactive—working and praying for restoration, for unity, and for peace on earth. The more we do, the more people will be restored to work for good rather than being used by forces seeking destruction. Ultimately, that Luciferian agenda will not prevail—we must ensure it doesn’t.

Two or three years ago, when we started engaging with the Earth Shield and began to examine what was operating both on and within the Earth, and also what was behind many of these systems. We began to discern God’s desire, and then, we saw the counterfeits and the beings responsible for them. At that point, it became necessary to engage with those beings directly.

Yellowstone Supervolcano

We encountered three specific beings who were active—part of a larger order—operating in Yellowstone Park in the United States. Their names were Devastation, Disaster, and Destruction. These three beings sought to bring about destruction through the supervolcano located in Yellowstone Park. If that volcano were to erupt, the entire United States could be blanketed in ash, leading to crop failure and essentially wiping everything out. So, we became aware of their agenda and engaged them.

During this engagement, we came to understand their strategy. We confronted them, and—in the process—we saw them turned from their destructive purpose and restored to their original names and identities, which were Conservation, Preservation, and Construction.

War and ‘natural’ disasters

Subsequently, we learned about their influence throughout history, including their involvement in so-called natural disasters and other catastrophic events. They were responsible for causing destruction through war and similar means, manipulating and controlling people to destabilise the world and prevent peace. In the crises that ensued, the same people always seemed to profit and gain further control.

It’s crucial that we do not allow such forces to operate and bring about disaster, destruction, and devastation—whether by means of floods, famines, eruptions, earthquakes, tsunamis, or other so-called natural phenomena. These beings use elements like wind and rain to engineer crises, which are then manipulated by the same individuals for their own ends. We must ensure that those beings are prevented from operating in that manner and, instead, be wise and engage actively with the Earth Shield to protect the planet from external influence.

Pockets of darkness

By doing so, we are also able to perceive the strategies at play on Earth. When I observed, I saw areas that appeared as pockets of darkness—places into which I could not see, as if they were shielded. To discern what was happening, we had to penetrate that darkness with light. When we did so, we were able to see those beings and, ultimately, witness their restoration. That was just the case for those operating in Yellowstone Park; of course, many more are active in other parts of the world.

Global and creational restoration

We need to focus on restoring such beings across the globe, ensuring they no longer facilitate the crises that continuously unfold. What we need is lasting peace—not simply an absence of human conflict, but planetary peace. This involves harmony from the Earth’s core to its crust – with tectonic plates existing in a state of peace, not tension – thus minimising earthquakes, eruptions, and similar disturbances.

Our responsibility, as sons of God, is to legislate for a global and creational restoration and to cooperate for the wellbeing of the planet. This means administering freedom to creation and working with the elementals to ensure the Earth operates in peace.

God does not want to keep us at a distance. He wants us to be safe and secure in His presence—but that requires transformation.

Of course, Jesus wanted to share many things with His disciples, just as the Father desires to reveal amazing things to us. But we may not yet be ready to experience them. In John 16:12, Jesus said, “I have many more things to say to you, but you cannot bear them now.” That was certainly true for me. God wanted to reveal so much, and eventually He did, but at the time I simply could not bear it.

There is revelation, truth, and encounter available to us—but, like the disciples, we may not be ready. It is not because we are unworthy or not good enough, but because our minds need renewing. There are still things in our souls that need to be dealt with so that we learn to trust God—not based on what we see or understand—but simply because He is God. Our relationship with Him must be based on who He is, not on what He does for us, nor on what we do for Him.

Visiting or Dwelling?

God prepares us to dwell with Him in face-to-face intimacy—not just to visit from time to time. At one stage, I was visiting His presence. I was engaging with the realms of heaven, but I was not able to engage with His person—at least, not until I had been through this process.

My encounters in the dark cloud were preparing me for what was to come, though I was completely unaware of that at the time. I did not know what He was doing, or what He was going to do. I thought I had experienced everything there was to experience—how wrong I was!

Once, during one of those dark cloud encounters, I saw my destiny scroll. There was an event marked on it by a blue flame. The Father called it the eternal flame. I was deeply curious—why was I being shown this? At the time, I had no idea it would relate to what I was about to walk through. I saw my life flash before me, leading up to that moment within the flame. I just knew that nothing would ever be the same again. But I did not know what it meant, or how it would unfold. God was showing me something important, something intriguing—an invitation. And, as I sometimes say, Jehovah Sneaky knew I would not be able to resist.

He did not tell me what He was going to do—He simply invited me to engage the eternal flame for a life-changing experience. A friend of mine later painted a picture of someone in a blue flame. When I saw it, it resonated so strongly—it felt as though she had painted me, right there in the midst of that flame that had changed my life.

True Identity and Redemptive Gifts

As part of that process, the Father wanted to reveal my true identity to me—an identity closely linked to my redemptive gift. That redemptive gift is how the Father has wired me, as a son, to engage with the world around me and to mature into His fullness. It is how I see, perceive, and interact with life.

My true identity is connected to my redemptive gift, but it needed to be freed from the performance-based, soul-driven tendencies that had developed through my life experiences. Trauma, nurture, and upbringing can all shape how that gift functions—often making it impure.

In my case, I was using my redemptive gift to create and validate my identity. My redemptive gift is prophet–teacher. That is not the same as the spiritual gift of prophecy. This kind of “prophet” describes how I perceive and process the world. And I am almost equally prophet and teacher—every redemptive gift survey I have done reflects that. That is how God wired me to function as a son: curious about how things work, with the ability to explain them to others. That is probably why He chose me to be a forerunner in heavenly engagement—to open up that realm for others. Hopefully I can share my experiences in a way that is not too weird, so that people can see what is available to them too.

But I had gained my identity and security from the knowledge I received by doing that. I was using my soul to engage heaven—to see and know what the Father was doing, which in itself is good. But my soul would not allow my spirit to engage heaven on its own. Though we are seated in heavenly places, the consciousness of my soul was limiting my spirit’s ability to dwell and remain there. I was tethered to myself, and to the earth.

The Surrender of Self

So the essence of who I was, redemptively, was being used to create a false identity—and to bring me security and independence from my spirit. What I discovered was that me, myself, and I had to surrender. My soul and spirit had to be separated so that they could be reintegrated into oneness—spirit, soul, and body—joined and one with God. From His perspective, we are already one with Him.

As it says in 1 Corinthians 6:17,19-20: “But the one who joins himself to the Lord is one spirit with Him. Do you not know that your body is a temple of the Holy Spirit who is in you, whom you have from God, and that you are not your own? For you have been bought with a price: therefore glorify God in your body.”

This is what God desires: union so complete that we are one. But I could not experience that union—because my soul would not allow it. In my own understanding, I was alienated.

The Mirror Bible puts it beautifully:
“In our union with Him, we are one spirit with the Lord. Do you not realise that your body, by design, is the sacred shrine of the Spirit of God echoing within you? You are not the sole owner of your life—you are bought and paid for. All of you is His. Live your life conscious of how irreplaceably priceless you are. You host God in your skin.”

Gifted by Design, Not Performance

God wants to free us from the need for our soul to find identity in works—what the Bible calls the tree of the knowledge of good and evil, the path most of the world is on.

The purity of who we are redemptively must be tested and refined by fire. I believe our redemptive gifts will grow beyond just one or two, eventually reflecting all seven—to become more like Jesus. As the fruit of the Spirit matures in us, we will function more fully as sons—engaging not just in one way, but in every way.

The redemptive gifts listed in Romans 12:6–8 are prophet, servant, teacher, exhorter, giver, ruler, and mercy. These are not spiritual gifts for ministry. They are who we are. We are God’s gift to the world. The refining process reveals those gifts and frees us from the need to earn our identity through our own works. We can finally be who God intended—no longer performance-driven, trying to earn His favour.

That testing will look different for each of us. When I first studied redemptive gifts—through the teaching of Arthur Burk—I began to see how God uses testing to purify each one. When I taught on the ketubah in church, I warned people: If you go down this road, you will be tested.

I knew ruler-gift and servant-gift friends who had their ability to rule or serve removed—just like that. Then they had to face the question: Who am I without that? Who was I, without being able to see, understand, and teach?God was trying to show me: I am not who I am because of what I do, but because of who He made me to be. Even if I never did any of those things again, I would still be who I am.

A Restoration of Original Design

God took me through the dark cloud because He loves me.
He wanted to restore me to my original condition—so that I would know myself as He made me.
He wanted to bless me fully.
He wanted to reveal my heavenly identity and position as a son.
He wanted to release me into the fullness of sonship authority to engage creation.

But to do that, He had to do something quite drastic -it may be easier for you than it was for me.

Activation: Resting in Unconditional Love

I encourage you to just close your eyes.
Get relaxed.

You may want to lie down.
You can relax your body.

Begin by focusing on your breathing.
Breathe in slowly… and hold it…
Then breathe it out… slowly.

And as you breathe in… and breathe out…
Start to focus your thinking on God the Father, who is love.

As you begin to breathe in,
You are breathing in unconditional love—
The love of the Father for you,
As a son,
As a daughter,
As His child.

Breathe it in.

As you do, that unconditional love begins to flow
Through your whole being—
Touching every cell of your body,
Your mind,
Your emotions,
The whole of your soul, spirit, and body.

Let yourself be still,
And let God love on you.
Let Him show you how much He loves you.

As His love fills you,
Joy and peace come—
They overwhelm you,
They cocoon you.

All of His being begins to flow in you.
An atmosphere forms around you—
A cocoon of love, joy, and peace.

You are just resting in it.
Relaxing in it.

Be still.
Wait.
Rest.
Wait expectantly.

Whatever God wants to do with you—right now—
This is a safe place.

You can get out of the boat—figuratively.
You can choose to abandon yourself,
To sink into that vast ocean of unconditional love,
Where God’s love is so strong, so powerful—
You can trust Him.

He is a good God,
And He wants the best for you.

Just go deeper and deeper into that love
As He restores first love to you.

You can sink deeper…
And deeper…

There may be things around you that you sense or feel.
Be willing to go deeper and deeper…
Into love.

Where do we get our value from? Where do we get our identity from?

What I discovered on this journey of restored first love and identity was that I had been getting my value, worth and identity from what I was doing. And therefore, if I was not doing those things, I struggled with how I felt about myself.

Lessons from Hebrew Marriage

We have been exploring the restoration of first love through the lens of the six aspects of Hebrew marriage found in the Old Testament. God revealed to Israel that He desired a marriage relationship with them. However, they failed to accept that invitation. Instead, they set up their own system of Hebrew marriage, based on what they believed God had done—but something was missing: relationship.

It became a relationship based on contract, not covenant.

We looked at:

  • The Garden (Lakah) – God drawing us into intimacy and revealing His love
  • The Dance Floor (Segullah) – where He entwines with us, revealing our identity and destiny
  • The Mikveh – the soaking room of preparation and transformation, where He prepares us to come into His presence
  • The Ketubah – the covenant of relationship (which, in my case, I initially misunderstood and approached from the soul)
  • The Kiddushin – the betrothal, the dark cloud of surrender
  • The Huppah – the bridal chamber, the consummation of deeper union

False Identity

I was on a journey to have my first love identity revealed, which meant my false soul identity had to be exposed. I did not know who I truly was, and therefore, I was operating in the power of the soul. The soaking room began that process; the dark cloud completed it.

Today, I want to talk about that dark cloud experience—what led to it, how it unfolded, and how it changed everything. The Father’s goal was intimacy and union—symbolised by marriage and consummation in the bridal chamber—which would lead to a face-to-face experience of God’s person, far beyond experiencing His presence.

Into the Dark Cloud

I reached a point on my journey where the soaking and fire of preparation were drawing me towards the bridal chamber—to that consummation, to deeper intimacy, truth and knowledge than I had ever imagined. But first came the dark cloud of separation and reintegration of soul and spirit, which brought about total surrender of the soul. That was, without doubt, one of the hardest things I have ever gone through in my life—but also the most beneficial.

Exposing the Thoughts and Intentions

This transformation revealed the need for that separation and reintegration. It exposed the thoughts and intentions of my heart, which were so soulish that I was shocked by my own reactions when God tested me. But He did it for my good, knowing that it was the only way to bring me into my true identity and reveal His true nature to me.

It was incredibly hard. The motives of my heart were mixed. Some of my intentions were shaped by the programming of wrong religious belief systems. Those flawed intentions were exposed when I attempted to make a ketubah—a marriage contract—with God, instead of entering into the new covenant that had already been prepared for me to be included in. The whole process had been flawed from the beginning, and it brought to light the root of my soulish motivations.

The Father used those stages to help me see the false perspective of the soul, in contrast with my true identity—created in His image and likeness, as a son. The flaws in my thoughts and intentions became apparent when I tried to make demands of God—rather than surrendering to relationship and trusting Him.

Contract vs Covenant

That is the problem with a contract—it does not rest on trust. A contract says, “If you do this, I will do that.” These are your demands; these are mine. And if one party fails to meet those conditions, that is seen as marital unfaithfulness and could bring the relationship to an end—because it was never based on trust.

That is what I discovered. I might have claimed I trusted God, and believed I did, but the truth was my relationship with Him was not built on trust. It was built on reward: being rewarded for what I was doing and drawing my identity from my works for God.

Now, none of the things I was doing were wrong in themselves—but I was doing them from the wrong motivation. I was driven by a need for self-validation. I found that I could trust God only when I understood what He was doing. If I did not understand, I could not trust. I did not realise that until He revealed it to me—and when He did, it absolutely shocked me.

Some of my intentions were definitely performance-driven, not pure.

The Nature of the Dark Cloud

My dark cloud experience will be different from yours. You might not go through the same darkness and inability to see that I did. Others have shared different stories of how God brought them to deeper relationship. But I do believe we all must experience a separation and reintegration of soul and spirit.

We are all born into this world with our souls shaped from the outside in. Everything we learned about ourselves, the world and even God came through our physical senses. Our soul interpreted that data and built a worldview, a belief system, based on upbringing, experience and, often, religious or educational systems.

God wanted to bring me—and wants to bring each of us—into the bridal chamber for consummation, into a face-to-face encounter with the Father’s person. For that to happen, He must reorient our inner being so that our relationship is led by the spirit and not the soul. It must move from spirit to soul, not the other way round—so that we can be joined to the Lord and become one spirit with Him.

The Season of Preparation

After a period of soaking and fire around August 2011, in which I had some profound soaking room experiences, then between August and October 2011, in times of corporate worship, I began to experience what felt like a thick, dark cloud. I did not understand what it was. I was not afraid—but I was confused and disoriented. What was going on? Why was I having these experiences? What was happening? I asked a lot of questions.

Why Would God Hide?

So I began to look into it—what are dark clouds all about? I started exploring the significance of dark clouds in Scripture, and what I found was that God hides within a dark cloud to protect us from the intensity of His presence before we are fully prepared and ready to meet Him face to face.

This is not God keeping us away—this is God protecting us, but also preparing us. He draws us into His presence by leading us through a dark cloud of trust. The question becomes: will I trust Him enough to go through that dark cloud to enter into His presence—or will I back off, be afraid, and run from the experience?

Israel’s Encounter

In Deuteronomy 4:11, we read about Israel’s experience:

“You came forward and stood at the foot of the mountain. The mountain was burning with fire to the heart of the heavens—darkness, cloud and thick gloom.”

Of course they were afraid. They had spent 400 years in Egypt, in bondage, with little to no real relationship with God. And when they came out of that, they carried so much of Egypt with them—control, manipulation and fear. So, when God invited them up the mountain to meet Him, they were afraid. They drew back, and they failed to accept that invitation.

The Glory in the Cloud

In 2 Samuel 22:12, it says:

He made darkness canopies around Him, massive waters, thick clouds of the sky.

And in 1 Kings 8:10,

When the priests came out of the holy place, the cloud filled the house of the Lord, so that the priests could not stand to minister because of the cloud, for the glory of the Lord filled the house.

Now, when we think of the glory of the Lord, we usually think of light—but actually, God had to protect them from the fullness of His glory, from the intensity of His essence, from the blinding light of His presence. Solomon understood this. In verse 12, he said,

“The Lord has said that He would dwell in the thick darkness.”

So Solomon recognised that this thick cloud was not hiding God out of reluctance, but protecting the people. Even in that cloud, they could not stand—the weight of God’s presence was too great. But within that dark cloud, when God came to occupy the Holy of Holies, He was actually shielding them from the light of His presence—until Jesus came to reveal the light as the Light of the World, to reveal the true nature of God.

Hidden in Mystery

Psalm 18:11 says, He made darkness His hiding place, His canopy around Him, darkness of waters, thick clouds.

The Passion Translation renders it this way:

Wrapped in thick cloud-darkness, His thunder-tabernacle surrounded Him. He hid Himself in mystery-darkness. The dense rain clouds were His garments.

This is an invitation. God is calling us into that mystery—to see whether we will trust Him. Are we willing to go through the dark cloud in order to encounter His person?

Psalm 97:2: Clouds and thick darkness surround Him; righteousness and justice are the foundation of His throne.

So why does God hide in a dark cloud? Because without it, He is unapproachable light. But He desires to prepare us so that we can approach Him in that light.

From Cloud to Light

Eventually, when I went into that light—having been prepared and having passed through the dark cloud—I could not remain there for even a fraction of a second. It was far too intense for me at that time, because the process of deconstruction and the renewal of my mind was still ongoing.

But I returned—and now I dwell in that approachable light. I dwell in the realm of light, in perfection. I abide there. It is my home, constantly, continually. And that was only possible because I went through the dark cloud. My soul and spirit were separated, then reintegrated. I was reconnected. And now, I can dwell in the realms of heaven continually.

Hidden Until We Are Ready

Interestingly, the Hebrew word for thick and dark is the same. It means that God is unseen or hidden from our direct sight—until we are ready, until we are prepared to meet Him face to face. And that is our destiny. That is the purpose of restoring first love. God does not want to keep us at a distance—but He wants us to be safe and secure in His presence. And that requires transformation.

Activation: Guided Meditation

I encourage you to just close your eyes.
Get relaxed.

You may want to lie down.
Just begin to relax your body.

You may want to start focusing on your breathing.
Breathe in slowly… and hold it…
Then breathe it out slowly.

And as you are breathing in and breathing out,
Begin to focus your thinking on God,
The Father, who is love.

As you begin to breathe in,
You are breathing in unconditional love—
The love of the Father for you
As a son, as a daughter, as a child.

Breathe it in…
And as you breathe it in,
That unconditional love begins to flow through your whole being—
Touching every cell of your body:
Your mind,
Your emotions,
The whole of your soul, spirit and body.

So you can be still…
And let God love on you.
Let Him show you how much He loves you.

As His love fills you,
Let joy and peace come and overwhelm you—
Cocoon you.
Let all of His being begin to flow in you.
An atmosphere forms around you—
A cocoon of love, joy and peace
That you are just resting in,
Relaxing in.

Be still.
Wait.
Just rest.
Just wait—expectantly—
For whatever God wants to do with you right now.

This is a safe place.
You can get out of that boat—figuratively.
You can choose to abandon yourself:
Sink into that vast ocean of unconditional love,
Where God’s love is so strong, so powerful,
That you can trust Him—
That He is a good God—
That He wants the best for you.

Just go deeper and deeper into that love,
As He restores that first love to you.

You can sink deeper…
And deeper…
There may be things around you that you sense or feel.
Be willing to go deeper and deeper into love.

449. The Cloak of Mystery

The Cloak of Mystery

The cloak of mystery was something the Father described to me when I was engaging with fallen angelic beings, looking to help them find restoration. The Father essentially said, “You can bring them into a place”—like a cloud of darkness around Him—that He described as the cloak of mystery.

Now, a cloak is something you put on, and mystery is something you do not understand. So, in a sense, I do not fully understand it—but I did embrace what He said. What I felt, for me, was that when I engaged a fallen being, I could surround them with my spirit and bring them into a place—not within me, but within this cloak of mystery—which became a safe space for them to begin discovering where they fitted within God’s kingdom and all that entailed.

When I engaged with some of these beings, they were afraid of what might happen to them—especially from others still aligned with their previous order or hierarchy. They were genuinely fearful, so they needed a safe place in which to explore a restored relationship with God and begin rediscovering their true identity. This cloak of mystery provided that kind of sanctuary.

Just as I go into the realm of light in perfection, I entered that realm through a dark cloud of mystery. Within that, I found a place where I could engage with God—dwelling and abiding face to face, heart to heart with the Father. It was, in a way, a hidden place—a secret place. So, you could say that the cloak of mystery is a kind of secret place—hidden from the view of others—so that these beings could be safe as they found their place.

Creating a Safe Space

Is this something for others too? I believe so. If you are called to engage with fallen beings—if that is part of your journey—and you need to convince them that it is safe to pursue restoration, then you could use this as well.

I engaged with them in my spirit, allowing them to sense the genuineness of my love and to know that I was sincere in what I was offering. They could feel and recognise the truth in it.

The cloak of mystery was not just something I wore or carried. It was an actual place—a secret place—not just for my benefit, but for theirs. It became a space I could invite them into for their sake. It was somewhere they could go, be hidden, and begin the journey of restoration—safe and secure—before being released into God’s purposes. I cannot say exactly where it is, but I know it is within the realm of God’s kingdom. It is not beyond that—into the kingdom of heaven or beyond—but very much within the kingdom.

I engaged with it also in the atmosphere of the earth. It felt like a space of safety and security that God Himself called the cloak of mystery. They would be clothed in mystery—clothed, if you like, in darkness—which would hide them from the view of those who might wish them harm. That was key.

Restoration and Return

I believe that this place is available for all of us to use—to introduce beings to it, helping them come into a place where they can be safe and secure.

Some of them embraced the restoration of their destiny and then went on into the service of God. Others returned to the place of darkness to inform others of what was happening—to reveal what strategies were being employed and how things had changed. Different outcomes took place depending on the individual being’s journey through restoration.

Hopefully, that gives some insight. I do not claim to understand everything about it. But again, I encourage you to go back to God. Ask Him to show you how to use this, and what to do if you are engaging in that kind of work. As with anything in the kingdom, the more you use it, the more comfortable and familiar it becomes—and the easier it is to outwork.

The Lamb slain from the foundation of the world

All who dwell on the earth will worship him, whose names have not been written in the Book of Life of the Lamb slain from the foundation of the world. (Revelation 13:8 NKJV).

Before the foundation of the world, Jesus did not physically die; rather, he offered himself in identification with humanity, should we fall into a state of perceived separation from God. His self-offering was not about death itself but about fully embracing our condition so that we could ultimately live. The phrase “the Lamb slain before the foundation of the world” speaks to this identification. However, since God never desired sacrifices or offerings, he did not orchestrate Jesus’ death in a punitive sense. Instead, Jesus willingly gave himself so that we would always be restored.

Jesus came as a man to redefine our understanding of God. To accomplish this, he had to fully identify with us in the flesh, living as we do. By experiencing our humanity, he took on our death, not as a punishment from God but as an act of love. Humanity, not God, put Jesus to death. Yet, through his death, he overcame its power, bringing about the resurrection that includes us all. His coming was essential—not to appease divine wrath but to restore our lost identity and reunite us with the Father. While he did not die before the foundation of the world, he committed himself to our redemption from the very beginning, ensuring that no matter what, we would always be restored to relationship with God. Ephesians 1:4 (Mirror Bible) affirms this, stating that God’s plan has always been to restore us to face-to-face innocence.

So some are excluded?

However, you are not in the flesh but in the Spirit, if indeed the Spirit of God dwells in you. But if anyone does not have the Spirit of Christ, he does not belong to Him. (Romans 8:9).

The passage in Romans 8:9 must be understood in context. It speaks of the mind and spirit and our choice to identify with either life in Christ or the law of sin and death. If our mindset remains focused on sin and death, we live as if we do not belong to Christ. When Jesus said, “Depart from me, I never knew you,” it was not about literal ignorance but covenantal relationship. If people continued living under the old covenant, refusing the relationship Jesus offered in the new, they remained unknown to him in that sense. The passage does not imply that some are excluded from Christ, but rather that those who think and live according to the old ways act as if they are outside of him. In reality, the Spirit is in all, breathed into humanity just as he was into the disciples, making all people part of the new creation. The issue is not whether we belong to him, but whether we recognise and live in that truth.

As Proverbs states, “As a man thinks in his heart, so is he.” If our thinking remains rooted in the law of sin and death, we experience separation—not because Christ is absent, but because our mindset does not align with the truth of who we are in him. We are not cut off from God; rather, we live as if we are. The passage emphasises the importance of shifting our perspective, rejecting the old covenant mindset, and embracing the truth of life in the Spirit. When we do, we experience the reality that Christ is in us, and we are fully his.

Lost?

Being lost does not mean being disowned. The parables of the lost sheep, the lost coin, and the prodigal son illustrate this truth. The lost sheep still belonged to the shepherd; the lost coin was still owned by the woman, though it was temporarily out of reach; and the prodigal son remained a son, even though he had distanced himself from his father. The problem was never one of ownership but of connection. Likewise, all people belong to Christ, but those who do not recognise their identity in him live as if they are lost. The solution is simply to awaken to the truth and return to that place of belonging.

The key is to remain in a place of rest—resting in the knowledge that there is no condemnation for those in Christ Jesus. We have been set free from the law of sin and death, and we are called to live in the fullness of that freedom. Rather than striving or struggling, we are invited to abide in this truth, resting in the life Christ has already secured for us.

A deeper knowing

I think cardiognosis is often perceived as being connected to the Father’s heart and, therefore, the knowledge of his heart. That is true, and a heart-to-heart relationship with him will give us an unfolding knowledge of his heart. However, it’s not necessarily a cognitive process where he tells us things directly. Rather, it’s about knowing—a deeper knowing.

To truly feel the heart of God, our own hearts must expand. We cannot contain the fullness of God’s heart if our own is fractured, damaged or broken. Wholeness is essential. Beyond that, our hearts must grow in their capacity for compassion and love as we grow and mature. This level of love requires an expansion of our heart.

We also have a choice—we can open our hearts towards certain things, or we can close them. To open our hearts means giving access to those things God is working with or for. When we feel his heart, God desires that we respond out of his heart, motivated by his compassion, rather than out of duty or obligation. It’s not about thinking, “Oh, God has shown me something, so I suppose I’d better do this.” Instead, it’s about being moved by his desire and compassion as we come to know and discern his heart. This process is an intimate cardiognosis—a heart-to-heart revelation.

Engage with creation

We can also open our hearts towards other things. For example, there have been times when I’ve engaged with creation, and my heart has expanded. I’ve felt the sadness, loneliness and disconnect of creation, which stirred a deeper desire for its restoration and freedom. Engaging with a situation in such a way allows our hearts to expand and to develop a greater love, compassion and connection than we might have experienced before.

As we operate in sonship and the desires that come with it, we begin to see, feel and sense things differently. This awareness prevents us from becoming oblivious to what’s happening around us. Instead, we engage it. I can reach out to creation and engage in cardiognosis with it. I can open my heart to feel what creation is experiencing.

Similarly, I can open my heart towards others. When I speak at conferences, I choose to open my heart and spirit to the people there. I surround the space—wherever it might be—with my spirit to create a safe environment where people could engage with me. In doing so, I become more aware of their needs and am drawn to speak about what is most relevant to them.

In the past, I engaged my spirit to create a safe place, but I’ve since learned to engage my heart as well. It’s not just about creating a safe space but about making it a place of real connection. This requires a willingness to feel.

Open our hearts to experience

Years ago, empathy was often encouraged. Some would intercede for others by empathising with their pain, sometimes expressing this through wailing or outward emotional displays. I don’t think that is really what it is talking about. It is not about feeling someone’s pain and becoming emotionally broken. Instead, I would focus on relating to where someone is and being motivated to engage with them for their good, rather than simply sympathise with them. Some of what I saw in intercession didn’t sit well with me. Perhaps it’s because I’m not mercy-gift oriented, but I felt that all they were doing was wailing without actually achieving anything. Did it achieve anything? Maybe it did. But it didn’t feel like where I was, and I certainly didn’t respond in that way very often.

But I do feel I can choose to open my heart. I can choose to engage my heart and my emotions to feel and sense and be more connected to a
person, or a situation, or creation itself; and this is what I believe cardiognosis to be. It’s not about intellectual knowledge but experiential knowledge—knowing through experience. If we don’t open our hearts to experience something, we won’t truly know it; we’ll only have information about it. True knowledge comes through personal testimony and encounter, not just information.

Engaging heart-to-heart

I believe God calls us to be holistically involved in situations. Sometimes, even our physical bodies can react or sense the dynamics of a situation. It’s about engaging with the whole of who we are—spirit, soul and body. In the past, I relied more on engaging with my spirit because I was more comfortable with that. Over time, however, I’ve allowed my emotions and heart to become more involved, engaging heart-to-heart in a way I hadn’t before.

This change has come as I’ve connected more deeply with the heart of God. That connection inspires and moves me in a way it never did before. I believe this is part of growing in true knowledge.

327. Reflections on my Journey with God

My own journey and the experiences I have described to you over many years are just one example of what can happen, not something that everyone has to go through in the same way. Walk in relationship with the Father, and let Him set the agenda.

When I was fasting and engaging with God for the first time in 2010, I went through an exhaustive process of applying the blood of Jesus to the gateways of my soul, as I had heard Ian Clayton explain. It worked for me because of my disciplined nature, but I wouldn’t necessarily advise everyone to take that same approach. Instead, allow the Father to show you what He wants to deal with, and provide you with the right tools for that specific work. It’s about using the appropriate method for the job, rather than trying to force something that doesn’t fit.

Flexibility and responsiveness to the Holy Spirit are the key, not trying to impose a rigid, one-size-fits-all process. In something like Engaging God I can provide some resources, but nowadays I would advise letting the Father direct how they are applied in each person’s unique journey. Simply surrender as a living sacrifice, and allow Jesus, your High Priest, to prepare you. Keep walking in relationship with the Father, and let Him set the agenda. I have found that a formulaic, systematic approach is not the way God does things. Use the tools provided as the Spirit leads, not as a program to work through. Each person’s journey is unique, and the relational, responsive approach led by the Father is far more effective than trying to systematically fix ourselves. So be at rest and do not strive.

The finished work of the cross is indeed complete, but we may not always be fully aware of (or benefiting from) everything that Jesus accomplished. Transformation comes through the renewing of our minds, as we come to a deeper realisation of God’s amazing unconditional love, limitless grace, and triumphant mercy. That is what enables us to change, not because we have to in order to be acceptable to God, but because the revelation of what He has already done for us leads us into transformation.

The journey of restoration and wholeness is a relational one, and the pace at which it unfolds is relative to each person’s unique circumstances. Some may experience swift breakthroughs, while others who are deeply broken may need more time to fully trust God and allow Him access to the depths of their being. The key is to simply follow God’s lead, without setting your own agenda. Present yourself daily as a living sacrifice, and let Him guide you on the path He has for you. Resist the temptation to compare yourself to others or try to figure it all out through your own knowledge and strength. Trust Him, enjoy the journey, and allow Him to bring things to the surface when the time is right. This keeps the process relational and joyful, rather than heavy or burdensome.

Summary

I believe that God will lead you into the wholeness and restoration He has for you, at the pace that is perfect for your unique journey. The invitation is to rest in His love, walk closely with Him, and let Him do the work. When we do that, the transformation He desires to bring about in us can unfold in a positive and life-giving way.

310. Embrace Vulnerability, Find Affirmation

We need a process of restoration, and only God can restore us. We can meet God as our Father. We can have encounters with Him, and He wants to meet us in that way. But let’s go beyond just seeing it as an exercise.

I encourage you to think about it ahead of time and give God the opportunity to show you if there are any areas that need resolution.

Are there any unmet needs within you?
Are you still seeking affirmation from others, because you have not fully received it from the Father?

We will run into trouble if we keep seeking approval from others because they will inevitably let us down. Nobody is perfect. And then we might feel betrayed, wounded, and hurt, causing us to build walls around us.

There were times when I could be surrounded by people, even in a small group, and still feel alone; I would have my barriers up, protecting myself from getting hurt. Despite being in the presence of others, I felt isolated. But when those barriers finally came down and my wounds from my father and from betrayal were healed, suddenly I was free to be myself. I no longer had to compare myself to anyone else. I could embrace vulnerability, be open, and freely share.

Now I know that other people’s opinions and judgments do not define me: it is what God says about me that matters. I know how deeply He loves me. I know the beautiful things He has spoken over my life and the revelations He has given me. That is how I measure my worth and purpose.

So, let others say whatever they want, positive or negative, neither have any effect on me. I have learned to forgive and release people, especially when they are acting hurtfully. My identity and confidence come solely from God, my Heavenly Father, who has lovingly shaped me into who I am today.

So here is what I urge you to do: allow God to uncover any unresolved areas in your life. Maybe there are still some lingering scars that need healing and restoration. God cares for you more than you care about yourself, more than anyone else could possibly care about you.

He also wants to help you and to fulfil every need you have. He put those needs for acceptance, approval, affirmation, and significance in you because He wants to meet them. So if you are trying to find fulfilment for them from your spouse, friends, children, or anyone else, they will never be able to give you what God can give you. If you are seeking fulfilment elsewhere, you are looking in the wrong place.

Let Him reveal who you truly are and show you where you came from. Let Him take you back to that wonderful place of security within His embrace, where you can truly shine and understand your purpose in life. But beware: do not rush into chasing your purpose without truly knowing who you are. Otherwise, you can easily fall into the trap of striving and trying to discover your purpose through endless activity.

These are deep questions we all face. Take some time to let these things sink in. Find somewhere quiet where you are or go for a walk if you prefer. Give yourself that space now to ask the important questions: is there anything still unresolved in my relationship with God as Father, or in my relationships with my earthly father or others?
