17. Prophetic Timetable Overview (part 2)

Important note: at the time of writing this blog post, Mike had not yet received all the revelation he now has regarding the ‘hell‘ delusion, AD70 as the ‘end of the age’, happy eschatology and the restoration of all things, for example.

Last time we looked at the opening stages of what I have called the Prophetic Timetable – at what God is planning to do in our days. There is a call to intimacy, a gathering of stumbling blocks, a raising up of a Joshua generation, a judgment of God’s household, a harvest of labourers and a shaking of the world’s systems.

Final Harvest

And there is going to be a final harvest. I have told you before, at the very least there are going to be more people in heaven than not. If there are 6 billion people today on the planet, then I want most of those people to be swept into the kingdom of God – but we are going to need that earlier harvest of labourers to bring this harvest in.

The River of Life is flowing from the throne in heaven today. The crystal river is full of gems and other wonderful things, but it is flowing through the realms of the heavenlies, into the dimensions of the atmosphere of the earth, a kingdom in (not ‘of’) darkness, to a place called Nirvana. Some of you might know what that place is, it is a desolate place. The river is being dammed up in that dimensional realm. The River of Life continues to flow and build up pressure and so that dam is going to be broken when we take back possession, when we take back the authority that Adam lost. Satan became the prince of the power of the air in what was Adam’s sphere of influence. When we bring the dominion of the kingdom of God, opening the everlasting doors so that the light of the glory of God disperses the darkness, then that dam is going to break and the River of Life is going to be poured out on earth. That’s why this harvest is going to come, it is because the River of Life is going to be poured out. I have seen that place, it is desolate right now, waiting and waiting for us to get our act together, to take back authority, to release the things of God.

There is going to be increasing darkness, but increased light. Increasing darkness in the world; increasing light in the church. We are going to shine before people; we are going to demonstrate the light, to be children of light. There will be increased manifestations of the glory of God, signs and wonders, and full ministry and full miracles being released. As a result of all that, there is going to be persecution. When we start seeing the true church born out of the institutional church, there is going to be persecution. But we can rise above that. There is going to be an end-time transfer of wealth: we are going to need to be able to finance the end-time harvest.

The mountain of the house of the Lord (speaking of God’s Kingdom, administered through the church) is going to be raised up above every other mountain, every other hill, every one of those things that are being ruled right now by the enemy.

Return of Jesus

These paragraphs reflect Mike’s undersrtanding in 2011 (see note at the head of this blog post).

[Jesus is going to return. But in Acts 3:21 it says that Jesus will remain in heaven ‘until the restoration of all things about which God spoke by the mouth of His holy prophets from ancient time’. So everything prophetically spoken in the New and Old Testaments will be fulfilled before Jesus returns. That is going to blow some of your theologies out of the water. There is all sorts of nonsense talked about what is going to happen. Jesus said that He is coming back in the same way that He went. When He comes back on the last day, it will be the end of time and the ushering in of eternity. He is going to stay in heaven until He has restored everything on earth. So, everything promised to Adam and Eve: restored. Everything promised through the prophets: restored. Everything spoken of through Jesus: fulfilled, coming into its fullness before He returns. Not after He has returned, but before He returns. ‘He must remain in heaven until…’.

So who is going to do the restoration? We are, His people. He gave the original mandate to Adam and Eve, and now He has given it back to His people, calling us to fulfil it – as he calls the church to fulfil it – calling us to bring His kingdom on earth, as it is in heaven.

There will be a last day, when Jesus comes, a day of resurrection, a day of judgment, when we will be changed in the twinkling of an eye, it says, and we will be drawn to meet him. On that last day, He is indeed coming back in the same way He went: on clouds of glory, with the cloud of witnesses who will be with Him, to receive us to himself.]1

The ages to come

And then we have the ages to come. All this that we are experiencing right now is just preparation for the ages to come. This is not the final deal; this is to prepare us for what is to come. And how you live here will determine what you do there. Jesus said some people are going to rule over ten cities, or five, or some over one – that was just an illustration of how there are going to be different roles to play, different levels of authority to exercise, and that will be dependent on our faithfulness here in doing the things Jesus did and the reward that He is going to release to us in that heavenly realm. Now, I want to rule over a universe, don’t you? Jesus said we could do the things He did, and greater; well, He created this universe, why not create another one? Take the limits off your thinking here: with God in eternity we are not going to be sitting around on a cloud with a little harp, plucking it and saying ‘Oooh isn’t this lovely!’. The ages to come are what we are being prepared for here and now; in the ages to come He is going to show us the fullness of everything.

Fire will come and purify the church. So anyone who is storing up stuff here, no matter how good it is, it is going to go into the fire. We need to be ready, because God has already begun.

16. Prophetic Timetable Overview (part 1)

This is the full version of the diagram we began to look at last time. In this post and the next one, I am just going to give you a brief overview of what God has shown me He is looking to do in each of these periods, and then we will begin to look at each stage in much more detail in coming days and weeks.

Firstly there is a call to intimacy: God started doing this a while ago, and it will continue. I know a lot of people struggle with intimacy. Even when we come together, when we are praising the whole place is heaving and full up at the front; as soon as we begin moving into intimacy you can see people start to drift off. There is something totally different about us giving God praise (which comes from our spirit) and real intimacy (which comes from His Spirit and our spirit joined together). God wants us to know intimacy. I am going to be going into that a lot more as we go on.

Second, there is going to be a gathering and removing of stumbling blocks. Angels have begun gathering here in our meetings. I have seen them, as have others. They are not just the trumpet angels, the healing angels, or the breakthrough angels: they are the gathering angels. They have been watching, waiting for an opportunity to gather and remove stumbling blocks from us, from the church. There is going to be a whole move where God does that.

There is judgment coming to the household of God: it is going to divide what is of God and what isn’t. However, judgment is not condemnation: with God, judgment is always an opportunity to change. Again, I will go into this more fully in future posts.

There are challenging times coming.

There is going to be a harvest of labourers. We are going to see thousands and thousands of people turning to Jesus, and that is not an end-time harvest, it is to prepare to send out labourers into the harvest fields to bring in the end-time harvest. Ask Jesus for them (Luke 10:2). There are going to be prodigals returning by their hundreds, streaming back to God. God is going to be drawing them.

Awesome times, but we need to be very careful to prepare and equip those people to do the things that God is calling them to do. There is going to be a raising up of the Joshua generation at this time – Caleb and Joshua were people of a different spirit who were able to take the people into their inheritance, the promised land. God is calling for a generation to be raised up, who will bring and equip those harvesters to bring in the final harvest. There are going to be apostolic centres to train those harvesters, and we are going to be one of those centres. There will be an increasing manifestation of the five-fold ministries and gifts of the Spirit to train people. There is going to be an increasing manifestation of people who seek first the Kingdom of God, people who live it, not just say it or know what it says, but who actually live it day by day and hour by hour.

There is going to be a shaking of the world’s systems, a storm of judgment coming on the earth, and we have to be ready, because we must have the answers in the judgment that is coming. When the world’s systems have fallen apart, the church is going to be raised up in authority, with answers. When the medical experts have no cure for some of the diseases that are going to be released, we will have healing in our hands. We have already seen a minor shaking of the financial system, a little tremor, causing a crisis the experts could hardly manage, which turned into a worldwide recession: when it all collapses, we will be people who can say, ‘Oh, over there in that fish’s mouth there is a roll of £50 notes!’ Or, ‘You need food this week? Oh, OK, there you go, I’ll just multiply what you have.’

Do you remember Elisha and that story about the widow and her son, and the oil that didn’t stop flowing until they ran out of pots to fill? Oil was a precious substance, you could use it for cooking but you could also sell it. As soon as they ran out of pots, the oil stopped flowing. That is a picture of what God is doing here. If you don’t want the oil to stop flowing, you have to keep coming for more, and bring more people who come as empty pots to be filled. People from the churches round here come to be filled, people find us on social media and YouTube and catch God’s heart in what we are saying, and they go on to fill others who are hungry and thirsty for more.

Returning to what I was saying, these world systems are all going to be shaken. Increasingly, we are going to see more ‘little’ examples of shaking which build up to a great shaking.

Next time we will look at the remaining periods in this diagram: the final harvest, the last day, the return of Jesus and the age to come.

15. Revelation of God’s Prophetic Timetable

We are getting to the core part of what we set out to share with you. Everything we have posted so far has really been by way of introduction. We are now beginning to look in detail at the prophetic timetable that God is opening up to us, the revelation of His plans and purposes over the coming months and years. Let’s remember, there are no specific dates or times here, just a sense of different phases or periods in which God will be working in particular ways, which He is calling us to recognise so that we can cooperate and participate with Him.

This is the first part of that prophetic timetable:

Each of these is a period of time which does not end, but continues alongside the other periods of time. Over these periods, there are going to be an increasing number of apostolic centres, where God is equipping people in apostolic power and ministry, and in the gifts of the Holy Spirit. Increasingly, fivefold ministry gifts are going to be released to the body of Christ. There will be increasing manifestation of a people who are seeking first the Kingdom of God and His righteousness. There is going to be an increased shaking of every worldly system: financial, medical, political; in fact any system that is out there is going to be shaken. And the only things that can remain are the things that are based on the Kingdom of God. There is going to be increasing world darkness, but church light. We are going to shine in the darkness and there are going to be increasing manifestations of the glory in signs and wonders, which is going to demonstrate God’s Kingdom in heaven here on earth.

This second diagram is just a different way of looking at those same periods.

Now there are a couple of things I want to touch on. The first one of those periods has already started, it is already here, a call to intimacy and love. Again, you can see it will not stop, it will go on underneath all the other things God will be doing, until Jesus returns. You can read Song of Solomon and just get information, or you can catch His desire for intimacy; you can read it and expect to experience the presence of God for yourself. Many people are experiencing the presence of God and his love today far more than they were last year.

That is happening, and it is to prepare us for the coming of the sword, because there is going to be a gathering of stumbling blocks and the refiner’s fire. You do not need to be frightened of that, you can fall on the rock and be broken! I would rather do that than the rock fall on me and be crushed, but whatever way, God is going to do it, and it is up to us which way it is to be (see Matt 21:44). We can surrender to it, and allow God to do it, or not.

We need to be a habitation of God, a dwelling place of God’s Presence. We need to know God is in us. Father, Son and Spirit came to dwell in us: as it says in John 14, ‘they made their abode’. Jesus went to prepare us to be a place where the Holy Spirit could dwell, and the Father and the Son could dwell.

In Acts 2 there was wine, fire, and wind of the Spirit. The early rain was great, but there is going to be a latter rain which is even better. So all the wind and the fire and the rain of the first outpouring of the Holy Spirit is only a taster of what is going to be poured out in the end. ‘You ain’t seen nothing yet’.

Wine, fire, wind

I have engaged with three of these periods so far personally.

I experienced the wine of the Spirit in 1993 through a guy called Rodney Howard-Browne. He was known as ‘Joel’s bartender’ because he brought the pouring out of the wine of the Spirit to the Pentecostal arm of the church, with a lot of laughter. In Toronto they picked up on that, and it was wild. As a church, Freedom was birthed from that in More for ’94: and it really was wild, it was like a zoo. Bob Jones prophesied in 1983 that this was going to take place, and when it did it caused warfare in the church; it caused division. Most of the people in the UK were on the side of God: for instance the Church of England came out and said ‘These are manifestations of the Holy Spirit – we are going for it’; Holy Trinity Brompton, particularly, were in the forefront of that. Awesome! But in America it was totally different. It caused division, so much so that the Vineyard church threw out Toronto from their whole movement… and in my view have never been the same since.

Pensacola. The fire. Now I went to Pensacola and it was the most intense fire of the Presence of God I have ever experienced anywhere. You could not walk into that place without wanting to get on your knees in repentance. People ran to the front, including me, to repent; and I couldn’t even think of anything to repent of! I ran to the front and just got on my knees and cried to God because my spirit was so touched by the fire of his Presence. That was just a flicker of what is coming.

Lakeland: the wind. Some of us were touched by what happened in Lakeland. Whatever you believe about what went on in Lakeland, it was God. Man got involved and there were unwise things that happened but it was God. You can’t reach out and touch your TV screen and be changed if it isn’t God. How many of us did that? We did that. It was the Presence of God, it was the wind. Now that disrupted everything, it was a worldwide phenomenon, thanks to God TV and the internet. The wind blew, but that was just a breeze compared to what is coming. A wind is going to blow, and nothing is going to stop it. You can’t tell where it’s coming from, you don’t know where it’s going; but it is going to blow powerfully, more powerfully than any of us really know. Before Jesus returns, that wind is going to blow. The former glory is going to be nothing compared to the latter glory of the house: the Kingdom of God revealed, on earth as it is in heaven.

14. Doing Greater Things Than Jesus

If you have been following this blog for a while, you will know that in 1 Chronicles 12:32, the Sons of Issachar were men who understood the times, with the knowledge of what to do. Sue Davies prophesied that scripture over us here in Freedom Church, that we would be people who understood the times we are in, who would understand the times that are going to come, and that we would know what to do when those times came.

Miracles

We are going to need to know what to do, because those times are coming. The things that Jesus did here on earth were the template (or the pattern) of the things that we are going to be called upon to do in the times ahead. Jesus was able to do the things He did because He was able to operate in the supernatural realm, connected with heaven and earth at the same time. He brought the power of heaven into earth and manifested supernatural signs, wonders and miracles.

So He was able to turn water into wine; He could manipulate matter; He was able to walk through people so they couldn’t hold Him; and He was able to disappear – He became invisible at times, so they couldn’t stone Him. He was able to speak to a fig tree and it died; He was able to turn to Peter and say ‘there is money in the mouth of that fish’; He was able to provide supernaturally, to feed thousands of people from a few loaves of bread and a couple of fish – He was able to multiply them, to manipulate matter.

Jesus did miracles, and He said that we would do the things He did, and greater things. We are going to need to do even greater things than Jesus did because the enemy is going to be manifesting to a greater degree on earth, and we are going to have to overcome him. So we are going to have to be able to walk on water, still storms, challenge the prophets of our day (like Elijah did with the prophets of Baal when he called down fire from heaven). Those are stories which were written for us, to actually demonstrate what God can and will do. He is going to need to do them again, and He is going to want to do them through us. The healings, the miracles; everything that Jesus did is available for us to do too.

Now we may well think, ‘how can I do all that stuff?’  We need to become more like Jesus. That is how we can do it: we have to become more like Him, transformed from glory to glory. We need to be ready  to move and to act decisively. When God says ‘jump’, we jump: and He is going to direct us clearly like that.

Stuck

When Mike Bryant was here, one Thursday night, he prayed for me and I got stuck. The power of God hit me, and I went down like a sack of potatoes. Sometimes people kind of float down gently, but this was just ‘bang!’.

And for the next hour I could not move a muscle, I was totally fixed to the floor. I wanted to get up but I couldn’t; I could just about move my head maybe half an inch. Other people were responding to Mike calling them forward to receive more of God – I wanted to go forward for that too, but there I was, stuck to the floor. Eventually I managed to prop myself up on my elbows, but the bottom half of my body was still not moving. I made it up onto a chair with my elbows, and then I got stuck there – again, I couldn’t move.

By this time I was pretty fed up, because everyone else was being prayed for and meeting with God, and I couldn’t get up. I got someone to pull me up onto my feet, but my legs were totally rigid, I was standing up but I couldn’t walk – in fact I couldn’t even move my foot. I persevered and succeeded in shuffling one foot forward a few inches, but then I got stuck again. Absolutely, completely stuck. After a bit, I thought, ‘I really need to move my leg’ so I reached down and lifted my knee up with my hand… and fell over. Some people found all this highly amusing.

Now what was God doing?  It wasn’t just a sign – by this time there were only about five of us left in the building, and three of us were stuck on the floor! Now sometimes God doesn’t want us to move, he wants us to stay there and get stuff sorted out; sometimes that is why we are stuck like that. Sometimes we are stubborn, and it is God saying, ‘I can be more stubborn than you, and you are not going anywhere until you have surrendered’. But this wasn’t one of those occasions.

Protect, maintain, or move?

God actually told me what he was doing; he spoke to me really clearly, and one of the ladies from Folkestone that had come with Mike also came to me with a prophetic word which confirmed what I heard God say. He said, “This is what the church is like. It is paralysed. It is stuck. Every move of God in the past has got stuck; it has got so far, and then it has got stuck. It has said ‘Wow! Look what we’ve got! Let’s maintain it! Let’s protect it! Let’s keep it!'” But it isn’t ours, we have to give it away. Every one of those moves of God has become a denomination or a movement that has got stuck, can’t go any further. Every time I got to a new place, I got stuck. So what God is doing here at Freedom, and with others around the world, we cannot afford to get stuck with it. We have to be continually moving forward.

We cannot turn it into a tradition. Let me give you an example of how traditions work. I heard of a church in America where the power of God came one Sunday and split their plexiglass lectern in two, straight down the middle, and it opened up a massive move of God. Do you know where that lectern is now? In a case, on show, and that’s all that’s left of that move of God, just a broken lectern in a case. And they look at it and say ‘Oh, wasn’t it wonderful when God came and did that’.

We don’t want anything that we are doing to get stuck. We are not going to protect it, we are not going to maintain it, we are going to move with it. I don’t want a movement of God that fizzles out, I want something that brings Jesus back. That’s why we have to get prepared.

We don’t want a church that is paralysed – and a lot of it is paralysed. I think it is wonderful that some of the guys who were coming from the Methodist church were getting touched by God, because what would Wesley think if he walked into some of the Methodist churches today? I was brought up in the Methodist church in St Ives, it was the Bible Christian church in actual fact, which started from a move of God just down the road here in Shebbear. There was a revival in Shebbear, and they started the Bible Christian Methodist movement. I was brought up in that church for about 15 years, and no-one ever told me it had its roots in revival. In fact, I am not sure they even knew because they were so far removed from what God had done. We cannot afford that to happen. We cannot create a new tradition, or a new religious doctrine, or something which is a doctrine of demons and robs us of what God is doing. We have got to be willing to move forward and be prepared, we have got to look at the signs of the times and understand what God is doing and saying.

There is so much that God is going to do through us… if we are obedient.

13. Battle for Your Attention

What God wants is our worship.

It has nothing to do with singing songs, that is not what worship is – worship means obedience. It means that God wants us to be His people, who will do what He says and fulfil His purpose. It is described as service in Romans 12:1.

‘Therefore I urge you, brethren, by the mercies of God, to present your bodies a living and holy sacrifice, acceptable to God, which is your spiritual service of worship’.

That is, giving our life to Him as an offering, surrendering our life daily to His will and purpose. That sacrifice is acceptable to God, it says, and it is your spiritual service and worship. ‘Spiritual service’ and ‘worship’ are the same Greek word, they mean the same thing. They mean that when we surrender to God, we become vessels fit for Him to use. But only if we do indeed surrender, and it is our choice: He gives us free choice to surrender to Him or not. And it is a daily choice, as Jesus said, daily to take up your cross, deny yourself and follow Him. It’s not something you just do once for all, you have to make that conscious decision daily.

And when we come together to worship, we need to release what is in us to fill the environment. We don’t come to suck it in, we come to let what is in us come out: the Presence of God in us.

Who are you going to serve?

But there is a battle going on for your attention, for your worship, and for your choice. Everything around you – the world, your flesh, the devil – everything is competing for your attention, for your worship, for your choice to say ‘yes’ to God on a daily basis. There is competition, there is battle, there is warfare. The question is, who are you going to serve – world, flesh, devil or God?

That is a choice we must make every day. Every day we need to come as a living sacrifice. Every day we need to say ‘Not my will, but Yours be done.’ Every day we need to say ‘I have been crucified with Christ, and I no longer live but Christ lives in me. The life I now live in this body I live by faith in the Son of God’ (Gal 2:20). And not just faith in the Son of God, though that is what we start with: we become those who have the faith of the Son of God (Gal 2:20 KJV). We can do the same things Jesus did by faith; we can do the miracles that He did if we have that same degree of faith. So who are we going to serve? God is challenging us, He is challenging his church.

God is Love. That is His very nature. It was what caused Him to create the universe and to create every one of us. And Love wants the best; God wants the best for us, for each of us. He knows what the best is for each of us, that best is already written on a scroll, if you read Psalm 139 it says that He knew you before you were even born. Already on that scroll in heaven your whole life is set out, His will for your life, and He wants to reveal it to you. He wants you to know the best.

‘Do not think that I came to bring peace on the earth; I did not come to bring peace, but a sword’ (Matt 10:34).

God has plans for us

Now because God wants the best for us, He is not going to leave us as we are. He is not going to leave us in a mess. He is not going to leave us with all kinds of things going on in our lives that stop the best, that stop us being like Jesus. He is going to come with a sword, the sword of His Word, the sword of the Spirit, speaking the truth. Jesus is the Way, the Truth and the Life, so there is no other Way: He is going to bring the best. There is no other Truth, there is no other Life: it is the very best that God has got prepared for us. He has got plans for us.

Some of us may look at our lives and think, ‘Is that ever going to happen?’ That’s why He is coming as He is coming: to ensure that it does happen, to ensure that everything – every negative experience in our past – gets dealt with.

‘For the word of God is living and active and sharper than any two-edged sword, and piercing as far as the division of soul and spirit, of both joints and marrow, and able to judge the thoughts and intentions of the heart’ (Heb 4:12). That is what has been taking place here. God has been challenging the thoughts and intentions of our hearts, asking what is our motive, why is it that we want to come and be touched by Him? Why do we want more of His Spirit? What is going on? Why is He drawing us? Well, it is because that sword of truth is coming to divide. It is going to show us what is in our hearts. It says in Jeremiah that the heart is deceitfully wicked, it can deceive us. So it needs purifying. God is coming to show us the truth, to purify and refine us, to create the best, to create the image of the glory of Jesus. He wants sons. That includes the ladies, it’s a generic term, He wants to reveal us to the world as His sons.

First of many sons

He sent Jesus as the first Son, who was the firstborn from the dead. He rose from the dead so that He could be the first of many sons, and we are all those sons, but we need to be transformed into that image of Jesus. So that we can be like Jesus, do the things that Jesus did, we need to be prepared.

Therefore we need to pay attention to what God has said. We need to pay attention to what God is doing, we need to listen, because He is saying to get ready. There are situations, obstacles, challenges coming that we need to be ready for. So let’s be prepared to see and to hear, in the realm of the kingdom of God. Prepared to act in obedience, to step out when He says to step out, even if it might cost us, still willing to step out. We have got to ‘be prepared to be prepared’. God is coming to prepare us, and we need to be prepared for the warfare that is coming. Prepared to be ambassadors for the Kingdom of Heaven here on earth, operating under another value system. We have got to be prepared to be revealed as sons, real sons of God, to take dominion and rule. Adam and Eve were given dominion of the earth and they lost it to Satan; but Jesus came and got it back, and now He wants us to administer it for Him. We have got to be prepared to bring heaven to earth, therefore we need to have access to heaven: we need to be able to access the realms of heaven in order to be able to bring them to earth.

12. God in the Garden

There is a frequency of sound that is being released from heaven today: God’s voice. John 10:27 says, My sheep hear my voice, I know them and they follow me.’ How many of you are hearing God’s voice? God wants you to hear his voice, and not just in big meetings or when someone’s speaking or when you are reading the Bible; He wants you to hear his voice all the time.

He is speaking all the time: that voice is coming out of heaven and it is the voice of revival, the voice of God calling his people to himself. Look at Ps 42:7, Deep calls to deep at the sound of your waterfalls. That sound from heaven is like a waterfall. It contains all the frequencies of sound. You need frequencies which flow; you need something to move you. Low frequencies vibrate and you can feel them go through you. It is possible to move a house off its foundations using low frequency sound, and that is nothing compared to the sound of God’s voice. God’s voice is powerful, he wants to release his voice so that we can hear it. We looked at this before in Rev 1:15-16: His voice was like the sound of many waters… out of His mouth came a sharp two-edged sword; and His face was like the sun shining in its strength.

God’s voice can sometimes be a voice of love. He comes to woo us, as we sing, drawing us close, letting his love surround us. When we have got to that place where we know the love of God, sometimes the sound of God’s voice changes and he comes to declare the truth.

The sound of revival is about a visitation of God.

Why is God coming the way he is coming in this revival? The answer is, because we are not doing what we should be doing. That is the bottom line. If we were manifesting the presence of God, the Spirit of God and the power of God that is in us, he wouldn’t need to come like that. When we come together, are we coming to receive, or are we coming to release? God wants us so connected with his presence on the inside of us, which is connected to heaven, that it is releasing the sound of heaven through us. ‘On earth as it is in heaven’: the sound of heaven, the light of heaven, the power of heaven would be released through us.

Over the years we know the church has become traditional and institutional and has stopped doing the things they did in the New Testament times. We have looked at how the church spiralled down and went into darkness in the Dark Ages, and how God has been restoring the church ever since, bringing it back to its intended glory, not just the glory of the former house, the New Testament church, but the glory of the latter house, the end-time church that is going to usher in Jesus’ return.

And that church is going to be far more glorious; but who is the church? We are. So who is going to be far more glorious? I said last time that Adam was glorious in the Garden of Eden. I could preach a whole message on the Garden of Eden but let me just pursue this a moment, I will try not to get too far off track…

The Garden of Eden was not the garden of God. Read it carefully and you will see the garden of God was in Eden, and he planted a garden east of Eden, and it was watered from the garden of God. The River of Life flowed from the garden of God into the Garden of Eden, then it came out in four streams that filled the earth.

The Tree of Life was present there and if Adam had eaten of the Tree of Life, his destiny would have been fully revealed to him. We can now eat from the Tree of Life, but not on earth, because the Garden of God went back into heaven after the fall. The River of Life went back into heaven. The Tree of Life went back into heaven. When it was on earth, heaven and earth overlapped and everything from heaven was flowing freely to earth. So God was able to walk with Adam in the cool of the day. He was walking in that place of intimacy and relationship. God breathed the eternal essence of his Spirit into man and he became a living soul, so we are spirit beings first and foremost – and Adam’s spirit was on the outside. He didn’t look the way we do now, he did have a body, but the glory of God clothed him on the outside. He shone. God is going to restore that.

God does not want to restore us to the level of the New Testament church, he wants to take us back to Adam and Eve – and then to mature us into the manifest sons they would have become. They were given a mandate to bring heaven to earth, to manifest heaven on earth, and they walked in intimacy with God and had a relationship with God which was way beyond what most of us have experienced. We are just beginning to experience that too, and God is going to restore it more and more.

God is shouting right now, he is calling HIS church. It belongs to him, it doesn’t belong to us. He sent his Son to die for the church, to establish it. God is calling to his church, he is coming to his church in this visitation, to prepare us. He wants our full attention fixed on Him. He doesn’t want us to be distracted, looking at the signs and wonders, only that they point to him. He doesn’t want us to be looking at the miracles and the healings, only that they point to him. Everything needs to point to him. When we fix our eyes upon him, we are we going to become like him. We will become like the one we behold, transformed from one degree of glory to another, one degree of being like him to another increased measure of being like him, being like the Son.

11. Authority, Power and Glory

bright small sizeWe have to get ready and be prepared because the spiritual warfare which has been hidden is going to become more open and obvious. The meaning of the word ‘occult’ is just ‘hidden’ – spiritual warfare has been largely hidden in the western world – but as we have said before, soon the enemy’s schemes that are hidden are going to be exposed, and it is our light that is going to expose them.

Manifestations

If you go to Africa, or Brazil, or many places in the developing world where spiritual things are really open, you will see manifestations you would not see if we cast out a demon here. We may get a bit of screaming or wriggling, we do not get transformation into werewolves or snakes or other things; I am talking about actual physical transformation.

I ministered up in the Amazon jungle in Brazil, and we started praying for a girl who began to spin like a top, faster than was naturally possible. We couldn’t see her, she was spinning so fast. We were all amazed, thinking ‘What is this?’ But anyway, we told it to get out and it left (you really do not need to be frightened of this kind of thing because we have the authority in Jesus, and we have the power over demonic powers to cast them out in Jesus’ name).

I know many people who have ministered in Africa, who have seen stranger things than this. When Todd Bentley ministered there they had a big pit they called the ‘Snake Pit’ at the front, lined with people who ministered, and anyone who began to manifest in the meetings was put in that pit. I am not going to tell you what went on in there, it would blow most people’s minds. The open power of the demonic is common in those countries: witch doctors operate in those kinds of abilities, and they really can do things which western people cannot even conceive of.

Light is going to shine

Today it is hidden here, but it is going to become more open, because the light is going to shine brighter and brighter. The world may get darker and darker, but the light is going to shine. God is going to expose the darkness that is going on in this nation. Those things that are currently hidden will not be able to hide any longer when the light starts to really shine. And it is going to start to shine.

We will be casting demons out of people on the street and in the supermarket and in other public places because the power of God will expose the demonic. When you walk around in the power of God and the glory of God, and the Holy Spirit is so strong in you, you will bring conviction of sin, righteousness and judgment (John 16) and people cannot walk past you without either running or getting on their knees in repentance. That time is going to come: we must start resonating with the voice of God from heaven, start receiving that light, shining with that light, and operating in that light.

Adam was glorious in the Garden of Eden. I will go into this more next time: he didn’t look the way we do now, the glory of God clothed him on the outside. He shone. And God intends to restore that glory to us.

10. Nephilim: The Enemy Pollutes the Seed

We have been looking at what Jesus said, that ‘As it was in the days of Noah, so it will be at the coming of the Son of Man’ (Matt 24:37). How was it, then, in the days of Noah?

‘The Nephilim were on the earth in those days, and also afterward, when the sons of God came in to the daughters of men, and they bore children to them. Those were the mighty men who were of old, men of renown. Then the LORD saw that the wickedness of man was great on the earth, and that every intent of the thoughts of his heart was only evil continually’ (Gen 6:4-5).

So, there were Nephilim on the earth before the flood, and even after the flood. And can you imagine how terrible that was, that all the thoughts and intents of their hearts were evil continually? Why? Because they had been polluted, genetically changed. This was the enemy’s strategy in those days, to pollute the seed, to make the people on the earth genetically impure.

Hybrid offspring

I promised last time to say more about this. The Nephilim were the hybrid offspring of fallen angels and human women. This is how that came about: two hundred watcher angels were sent to earth to fulfil Lucifer’s role (he had been supposed to guard man and bring man into perfection). Those angels, then, were sent to guide and direct. But man started worshipping them and they fell. In falling, they took women for themselves, of humankind, and produced hybrids. These hybrids did not have human spirits, which has consequences for us today, as we will see. Now you may think that is pretty wild stuff, and so it is. But it says in Jude, ‘And angels who did not keep their own domain, but abandoned their proper abode, He has kept in eternal bonds under darkness for the judgment of the great day, just as Sodom and Gomorrah and the cities around them, since they in the same way as these indulged in gross immorality and went after strange flesh…’ (Jude 6-7). You can read more about this in the Book of Enoch.

That is what happened to those angels, they are in eternal bonds because they went after strange flesh. But in mating with human women they created ‘mighty men’ (Gen 6:4). [‘Mating’ could allude to overshadowing or genetic manipulation of man and animals, as happened with Adam and Eve when they traded with Satan: they gave their DNA (seed) in return for knowledge apart from God (Gen 3:4-6) to produce the seed of Satan (Gen 3:15)].

Some of those offspring of fallen angels and women were the giants. And if you look at the myths and mythology of the ancient world, you will find stories about Hercules and people like that, who were supposedly the offspring of gods and humans. Those stories have a basis in fact, they are not just myth, and some of those things actually took place. They brought violence to the earth, and they were looking to wipe out mankind so that the Seed of Woman – Jesus – could not be born, and therefore Satan would win. But we know that that scheme was unsuccessful because God came and wiped out the earth with the flood.

After their kind

If you take how many people there were at the flood, at a very conservative estimate, using a population equation widely used and accepted to estimate population growth, there were around 17 billion people. That is far more than there are today. Now, when God made the world he decreed that all living things should reproduce ‘after their kind’. There was to be no cross-breeding.  And this is not ‘after their kind’ – angels were never intended to interact with man in this way. But they did. That is what Jude means by ‘strange flesh’. So the spirits of all those people, because they were genetically impure, were not human spirits.

Consider this now: the first generation of Nephilim were the offspring of those fallen angels who mated with women. That first generation of  Nephilim again mated with women, and their descendants were more Nephilim; but each generation had less of the ‘angelic’ DNA, if I can put it that way, so there were more of them but their powers were less.  Although the flood wiped out the Nephilim, those Nephilim spirits are still around – as I said, they were not human spirits, they were ‘unclean spirits’. They are what we call the demons today. They are still roaming the earth, there is nowhere they could go, because they are not human spirits. So there are large numbers of demonic spirits roaming around, looking to affect, influence and challenge man. And there are fallen angels looking to control them (and through them to control you and me).

Now this is pretty wild stuff, as I said, and it’s not the kind of thing you hear very much about. But we have to be ready, because those Nephilim spirits are here and more are going to return. Where do we think the information about genetic manipulation has come from? Surely not from God, since He expressly commands things only to reproduce after their own kind (Gen 1:1, 12, 21, 24, 25). Draw your own conclusions.

The enemy has not stopped trying to wipe out the seed. ‘As it was in the days of Noah, so it will be at the coming of the Son of Man,’ so spiritual warfare is going to become more open, as we confront the power of the enemy and expose him.

9. Broken Seals, Open Warfare

warfare no logo“But as for you, Daniel, conceal these words and seal up the book until the end of time; many will go back and forth, and knowledge will increase” (Daniel 12:4).

Seal up the book

We are in a time when the seals are being broken and the books that were sealed up are being opened. There is revelation coming, revelation of the truth of God’s Word, revelation from the heavenly realms, and its purpose is to prepare us for these days.

‘But just as it is written, “things which eye has not seen and ear has not heard and which have not entered the heart of man, all that God has prepared for those who love him.”’ That is 1 Cor 2:9 and it is not a very encouraging verse unless you read the one that comes after it, verse 10: ‘For to us God revealed them through the Spirit; for the Spirit searches all things, even the depths of God’.

You see, verse 9 is a quotation from the Old Testament, and there were things in the Old Testament that could not be revealed. Before the Holy Spirit came, there were things that could not be revealed, not even to Jesus’ disciples. Nicodemus could not understand spiritual things that had no earthly counterpart. But today, by the Holy Spirit, God is revealing those things.

‘The Spirit searches all things’ – that is, everything about us, everything about God, even to the very depths of God, and he is revealing them to his people in these days to prepare us for what is to come. The prophetic books are being opened, and in opening those books there is new and fresh revelation being released, and we need to listen.

God’s Prophetic Timetable

Now when I talk about God’s prophetic timetable, I am not going to give you dates for things, I am going to give you a prophetic expectation about periods of time in which God is going to be working in particular ways.  I am not going to tell you everything that goes on in those periods because I don’t know it all, but I am going to tell you the things that God has shown me that are going to go on in those periods. We need to get ready and be prepared for these things that are coming.

We need to get ready and be prepared, because there is a challenge that God is going to bring. And if we are not ready and if we are not prepared, then we are in for a big shock. There are things you are going to have to do very soon in the kingdom of God that, if you had to do them now, would really, really challenge you.

Spiritual warfare

Spiritual warfare will become more open. In this country, spiritual warfare is hidden. Most of it is done behind closed doors by those ministering deliverance, or intercessors who are trying to engage the atmosphere of the earth. This is the kingdom in darkness where Satan rules as prince of the power of the air and his fallen angels rule over principalities, powers and territories.

Intercessors and others are engaging that kingdom in darkness mostly from this earthly realm, when, if they are engaging it at all, it should be from a position seated in authority in the heavenly realms of the kingdom of God or kingdom of Heaven. We need to go to the realms of the kingdom and directly obtain mandates or court orders if we are going to engage the kingdom in darkness, and we can then come down through the kingdom in darkness bringing the light of God’s glory to transform it, refine it and purify it. I will teach more about that as we go along.

But where spiritual warfare is concerned, I am telling you, things are going to ‘hot up’. The enemy’s schemes that are hidden are going to be exposed, and it is our light that is going to expose them.

The days of Noah

Jesus said that ‘As it was in the days of Noah, so it will be at the coming of the Son of Man’ (Matt 24:37).  Now that is a challenging verse. He is saying that if we look at how it was in the days of Noah, that will give an indication of what is going to be going on in the day when Jesus returns. But the difference between what happened in the days of Noah and what is going to happen when Jesus returns is that one was defeat and the other is going to be victory.

Then the whole planet was wiped out, other than Noah and his immediate family; now the whole planet can be saved. I am not saying that everyone is going to be saved, but the potential of these days, when there are so many billions of people on earth, is that there are going to be more people in heaven than not. There is not going to be a defeat for God’s people. Jesus is going to come back for a church without spot or blemish, prepared and ready for his return. But we have to be ready to deal with whatever we have to face.

In the next post I will say more, but for now I’m just going to give you a glimpse of this. I shared when we talked about spiritual warfare that the seed of woman and the seed of Satan are in opposition, that they have always been in conflict. Satan has always tried to wipe out the seed. Cain killed Abel; later the enemy would try to wipe out Moses, he would tempt and try to kill Jesus. But in the days of Noah, his strategy was to pollute the seed, to make the people on the earth genetically impure.

8. The Sword Comes to Divide

For the word of God is living and active and sharper than any two-edged sword, and piercing as far as the division of soul and spirit, of both joints and marrow, and able to judge the thoughts and intentions of the heart (Heb 4:12).

This passage is not talking about the Bible, despite what we may have been taught. This sword of the Spirit, the word of God, is going to divide our soul and our spirit. It is going to divide what is of the flesh, what is of the soul, and what is of the spirit in our lives, and in the church, and the world. This is the living word spoken into our hearts by the Holy Spirit. He may use scriptures, especially if that is a way we are used to hearing from Him; He may not.

The sword is coming

The sword is coming to our lives, and we cannot avoid it. It is coming from the mouth of Jesus. It is going to divide the thoughts and intentions of our hearts. It is going to show us what our hearts are engaged with, and it isn’t going to be easy, but it is going to transform us and the world in which we live.

The sword is coming to the church. Not just this church, but the church, and it is coming to cause division: ‘Who are for me, and who are against me?’ It will cause division because there is so much of the church that isn’t really the church, it is just people who go along to church.

Church is not a building, we know that, but it’s not a meeting either. The church is a people called out and gathered to meet with the presence of the living God and to serve Him. In charismatic circles we jettisoned the idea that church was about buildings years ago, but then it became about meetings, about going to the meeting. Actually it is nothing to do with meetings, it is about Him, and is about who we are: we are His people and church is 24/7. It is about who we are every day of the week, in our jobs, in our homes, in our neighbourhoods.

A level of holiness

And God is bringing a sword to the church. We need to get ready so that we are prepared to see what God is going to release. We have got to see into that supernatural realm of what is to come. We need to be prepared to be transformed, because if our lives remain in the state they are in now, then when the glory of God starts coming we will not be able to bear it.

I tell you, Ananias and Sapphira couldn’t lie to the Holy Spirit without dropping down dead. I don’t want anyone dropping down dead around here, but the level of holiness required for the church of Jesus Christ to perform the works of Jesus in the world is far higher than the level of holiness we are living in right now. Levels of relationship and responsibility are going to increase, and at the new level God is calling us to, a new level of His presence, there is a corresponding new level of holiness required. What we could get away with before, we will not be able to get away with in what is coming.

And God is going to open up and reveal those things to us. We have to be prepared. We have to be prepared to act. We cannot sit here and do nothing.

We have to be prepared for warfare, because warfare is coming, and what we see today is nothing compared to what we are going to see. We have to be prepared to be ambassadors for the kingdom of heaven on earth. We cannot live by the ways and means of the world; we have to be in it but we cannot be of it. We have to live by the kingdom, and the presence and the power of the kingdom of God. We are ambassadors to bring heaven on earth.

Bring heaven to earth

That is our commission, to bring heaven to earth. As it is in heaven, so it is on earth, through our lives. That’s what God is calling us to. We have to be prepared to be revealed as sons of God, who are going to shine with glory. Because Jesus was transfigured here on earth, that means we can be transfigured here on earth. People are not going to know what to make of it when the glory of God starts shining out of us visibly. But Jesus did it as a demonstration of what we are to do. What did He say? ‘These works that I do, you will do also, and greater things than these’ (John 14:12). Greater things: there’s a whole load more that we will have to grow into. We have to be prepared to take dominion.

God called Adam and Eve to take dominion over the planet. Satan took that from them, Jesus came to restore it. We have to be prepared to operate in the ways of God’s kingdom.

‘Your kingdom come, your will be done, on earth as it is in heaven’.
