530. Active Steps to Immortality

Put On Immortality

It is a subject which is becoming quite widespread and more and more people are beginning to engage it. I think the key to it is you cannot just be passive hoping that you are immortal. It says that the mortal puts on immortality. So there is a sense of “well, what do we do to put it on, or be clothed by immortality?” and that it requires our thinking to align with immortality. So, no fear in our thinking, no alignment to aging and death as if inevitability, no alignment to time running out. All the negatives, you know, we have to think of.

You cannot embrace immortality without thinking about the effects of death because death is overcome with life, it is swallowed up in life. So we have got to actually address what is our thinking which needs to change, which has been aligned to death or the inevitability of it, because most of us have been brought up with that inevitability. And in Christian circles, death is seen as a promotion because you get promoted to get the good stuff. We have got to break that mindset and make that mindset disconnected from death so that we can actually embrace, ” why does God want me to be immortal? God has made me immortal, and how can I clothe myself with his intention for me?”

346. Ageing and Immortality

Draw from the Right Source

Which means, how do I draw from the right source, because most people die because they run out of life. It is almost like you are born with an amount of life within a container of your body. There is an amount of life that, as you get older, you are running down that amount of life until eventually there is no life left and you die because you are only drawing from the natural source of life that is within your mortal body.

But if you are drawing from an energy source which is beyond that energy that you have just within your body, and you are drinking from living water as an energy source which is a fountain which is supplying you eternal life, then you are not going to run out of energy – because it is a constant supply of energy which is not that you had when you were born. So we have got to change the source to draw on immortal energy, the energy of God, the life of God, the spirit, all sorts of ways of looking at it. Drinking living water so that rivers of living water are flowing in us.

It is like we were born with a tank and we are drinking from the tank until there is no tank left. Nothing in the tank and the tank is empty, we die. But if we continually be infilled with a flow of life which is coming from beyond the tank, then our tank never needs to actually run out. But it is the source, and we have got to turn to the source. Jesus said, “Anyone who is thirsty, come to me and drink.” Think of thirst being running out of life. We need to turn to a source of eternal life.

Abundant Life

And immortality is not just ‘not dying’. It is living a quality of life which is the abundant life that Jesus promised. I do not think most people would want to live forever in the state that they are currently in. They do not want that, but they do not know how to do it.

382. Understanding Immortality | Beyond life and death

And there are changes. We need to find the abundance of life so that that life is a joy to live and we do not want to die because this life is so good. Why would I want to miss out on more of this life? But for a lot of people, the quality of their life is not there. Therefore they see life as something where “eventually, I am going to get a promotion and then I will get the good stuff when I die” because they do not have the abundance now.

So we need to ensure that we have the abundance of life which is love and joy and peace and everything that God intends us to have, and not be robbed, killed or destroyed by the lack of it, which is how the enemy will deceive us into believing that we will inevitably die. So there is a sense where our mind needs to be renewed to a different way of thinking about it, but our being needs to be focused on drawing from a different source.

So we are actively clothing ourselves in immortality or drinking from the right source because we know that we do not have what it takes within our own self to maintain life forever. There is a limitation on what we can draw from the tree of the knowledge of good and evil, if you like. We need to draw from the tree of life, and that source, the tree of life, will never run out.

So there is stuff to think about, you know, in changing thinking, turning our attention to a different source, and then drinking from that source.

Choosing Reality from God’s Heart

That is how God has created us to be, that we can choose and create our own reality. Part of the problem is if we keep choosing our reality out of our knowledge of the past, then we keep repeating the past and our reality never really changes that much.

477. Transform Your Reality | Harnessing the Power of Intention

We have got to actually see the possibilities that God has for our future and begin to align our choices from our future, which also comes from his heart in eternity. So it is coming from a place of intimacy with his eternal heart, which essentially is my scroll, my destiny, to which I then choose to align to what that frequency is.

His living words, when he spoke me into being as my source of life, are still vibrating within me. Now, when I resonate with that source and those words, then I am going to choose a reality from his original intention for me. And when he shows me a vision, if you like, of how he intends my life to be, then I see future realities that cause me to be able to choose them in the present, so they actually begin to form and come about. But it is not like it is fixed, therefore God shows me my future; and if I choose it, it will be guaranteed to happen. It is like there are possibilities for my future aligned to his desires, and for me, and if I come into agreement with them they will begin to form.

464. The Power of Co-Creation: Aligning with the Heart of God

Breaking Free from Past Programming

We have a lot of history in which we have been disconnected from our eternal identity, and we have made decisions based on what we have been taught from nature and nurture in our lives. So our soul has been programmed from all our experiences that have happened in our life from the outside in. But God wants us to begin to be led and guided from inside out, from his Spirit, my spirit, and therefore not the programming that my life has had. So if I keep choosing the reality based on what my past experiences are, I keep getting the same experiences, and that has got to change. So my mind needs to be renewed to see things differently, so I am not programmed to inevitably keep repeating the mistakes of my past.

The future is better. God wants me to succeed and prosper. He has blessed me. I need to come back into that place of his blessing and empowerment so that then my future is good, and his desire for my future is always going to be for my good and for my blessing, and so I can be a blessing. I am blessed so I can be a blessing. I am loved so I can love others, and that comes out of that reality of my relationship with God, which causes me to choose aligned to his heart rather than from my past. But we all have things that we are in process of having renewed so that we are not influenced by those things anymore, but we have a higher frequency of influence, that we resonate to a higher frequency rather than to the lower frequency that we have been used to living in. And his words still vibrating in me resonate with that higher frequency, but am I choosing to come into that agreement with that, or do I keep choosing the low frequencies.

Sometimes that is what people do. They are so familiar with the low-frequency life that they have been living, they do not think there is any other way of living. But when we start to glimpse what God starts to show us, then what is possible enables us to choose that to become reality rather than the inevitability of life just going on the same way. So yes, I totally agree with that statement, but it requires a relationship of intimacy to choose those realities rather than what we have been necessarily programmed with. And eventually, you know, we will be deprogrammed, if you like, and renewed to think differently and not have those negative choices or negative things dictating what we choose or how we choose it. So there is a process involved, but God is active in that process in renewing our minds.

253. Framing Your Reality

Cooperation and Corporate Agreement

Ultimately, we mature to a level where we create our reality instantly rather than over a period. At the moment for most people it is pray, believe that you have received and you will receive, because we have been used to waiting for what we have chosen to manifest. And sometimes it has to be a time period because other people are involved in that, and other things are involved in that, and I cannot just force my reality on other people. So there has got to be somewhere where cooperation comes in, and connection comes in, that there is a corporate mind of Christ choice of reality that more and more people will embrace and things will change on a greater scale rather than just around my life.

Because none of us are an island independent of everyone else; we still have to interact with other people. So if I am living in this area and I am choosing for this area to be blessed, but there are a thousand other people believing the worst, I have got to have a thousand times more influence than they have if I am going to change things. But if two or three come together, well, one can put a thousand to flight, but two, ten thousand. So there is a sense of exponential increase in there. If we start to come together with others and agree with God for those realities, then I think those realities can begin to bring good for the benefit of everyone, even if they are not making that choice themselves. It is not forcing them, but it is creating an environment where they will see what a wonderful thing it is to be blessed, rather than to live in a state of less than what God intended.

So I think more and more people will begin to connect with God’s heart, God’s mind, and will have a union of desire and heart which will bring about change, which is why I think things like the earth shield and other things, where people were coming together in agreement to engage with God and therefore be looking to see a place of protecting what God was doing on the earth and keeping it from interference from external sources so that God’s purposes can be outworked in practice. But I do think it is something we need to start to focus on, but we have got to make sure we are choosing a reality that is aligned to God’s heart.

When the Old Stops Working

I think sometimes we need an end of something for the beginning of something else. That is when sometimes it feels like it is dark. This is not working anymore. Why is it not working? You feel that because actually what God is wanting is for you to move from one old way of doing something into something new. Often, if the old way of doing it keeps working, there is no incentive to embrace the new. So it can feel like, why is this not working, what is going on? Because God has something new that he wants you to embrace.

Fasten your seatbelts!

Therefore, it can feel like there is a gap, or it feels like what is going on, but actually God is at work in it so that you can find what is new rather than staying with the old. Often what people do, when they have been used to doing something a particular way and it seems it is not working, is they try harder and push it. They often do it in the flesh, with their own effort and their own strength. What they are not realising is that God does not want them to do it that way anymore, because he has something new for them. But they are not able to rest in the gap.

Rest in Transition

Some people really do not like quiet. There has to be noise, there has to be activity, something has to be going on. That is the problem with not being at rest, you need the activity. And if the activity is something God wants to change, you keep trying to do it because that is your comfort zone. When you are comfortable, it is familiar, but it becomes uncomfortable when things stop working and you have not yet discovered how the new works.

That was the transition out of the old covenant into the new. It did not just end. There was a 40-year period of transition where both were in place, and that caused quite a lot of confusion and difficulty. But it allowed people to come out of the old thing, which was fading away and becoming obsolete, as it says in Hebrews, and to embrace the new covenant, which was a completely different revelation and experience. Some never came out of the old. They tried to make the old work.

478. Decoding Revelation: The Transition from Old to New Covenant

Letting Go of the Old

Paul was one of them, trying to make the old work when Jesus was trying to show him a new way. It was not until he was on the Damascus road, in the light, that God revealed that Jesus was in him, and that revelation transformed his life. But he had to abandon the old way of doing it to embrace the new way. He could not keep going with law and works as opposed to grace. So his whole message became one of grace and the finished work of Jesus rather than law.

He had to explain to many people why this was not working anymore, and some were pressured into going back to a system, or even going to a system they had never had, by those who wanted to maintain the law of Moses alongside the grace of Jesus. But you cannot mix covenants. During that 40-year period there was a mixture of old and new, until eventually the old came to an end. Even today people are still trying to mix old and new, because that is what happens with a religious spirit. It wants you to operate in a way that is based in a system, but mixing systems just creates a mess.

You know, if you want hot water, you want hot water, if you want cold water, you want cold water, but warm water is not very pleasant to drink. It is a simple picture of not trying to keep the old going, but embracing the new. But it is not easy when you are in the gap, because it feels uncomfortable. It feels like something is not right, not feeling good anymore, but that is because God wants us to embrace something new.

Growth Requires Movement

There is always a beyond. In Ephesians 3 it says God is able to do exceedingly abundantly beyond what you can ask or think. If you keep going with what was before, you will never go beyond into what is next. That is why it can feel uncomfortable, but you can still be at rest even when something does not work anymore or when things are changing and transitioning. It is not easy, because there are questions and feelings and a sense of uncertainty.

Ultimately, you cannot stay in a state of immaturity forever. We have to mature. It is like what happens when birds in a nest reach the point where they need to learn to fly. The mother pushes them out of the nest. They are encouraged out so that they will fly, because they will never fly if they stay in the nest.

I like watching the birds in the garden. We have bird feeders and tables, and the little birds chirp while the parents feed them for a while after they have left the nest. But eventually the parents stop feeding them. I have seen the adult birds sit on the bird table, encouraging the fledgling to come and eat, while the fledgling still opens its mouth expecting to be fed. But the parents do not do it anymore, because the food is right there. The young bird has to peck at it and eat it for itself rather than relying on the parent.

Moving Beyond the Gap

There is a sense of growth in this, and I think God orchestrates those periods where things are not working as well, or there is a gap, or it feels like you do not know where you are, so that we will not want to stay there. It may feel like a hole, as you described it, but it is actually part of the process of moving us forward into something new.
