535. Choosing Your Source | Tree of Life vs. Tree of Knowledge

Mike Parsons

Drinking from the Source of Life

It is the source that we need to drink from. And drinking, eating, they are all figurative, metaphors. Jesus said in John 6 that whoever eats the bread that comes down from heaven will not die. We are not physically eating his literal body, and we are not literally eating actual bread. So what are we doing?

We are not literally drinking water either, because it is not water as such. It is life. It is energy. It is the source. We have to choose which source we drink from. You could say we are drinking either from the tree of life or from the tree of the knowledge of good and evil. In a sense, we are either drawing from our own limited capacity or from an external source that can continually fill that capacity without ever running out.

That is how I see it.

I believe individuals are born with a certain amount of energy and life, and their body is the container of that life. How that energy is used determines how long it lasts. Eventually, if it runs out, people die. But that was not how God intended it to be. He did not create humanity to run out of life. Our own independent source will eventually run dry unless we find another source.

506. The Mindset of Immortality | Secret to an Abundant Life

Now, people are looking for sources in technology. They are talking about extending life through nanotechnology, supplements and things that positively affect the cells of the body. I am not against any of that. But it is not the same as immortal life. That is extending human life. The human body was created to self-repair, self-heal and live forever. But I am talking about a source of life that Jesus promised, a source that comes out of eternity.

Choosing the Right Source

As we focus our intention on that source and choose to drink from it, that source energises us. It energises our mortal bodies and gives life to them. Romans 8 talks about this, that the Spirit gives life to our mortal bodies.

415. Limitless Energy Through the Merkabah

Our bodies are mortal unless they receive immortal life. Originally, they were not created mortal. They became mortal because humanity chose to walk away from life itself. Jesus came to abolish death and bring life and immortality into the light. The question is this: if he abolished death, why are people still dying? Because they are not embracing the life and immortality he brought into the light.

Jesus promised that if we drink from this source, it would become a fountain springing up into eternal life. That means both quality and quantity of life. The body does not have to die, but the life we live is also meant to be abundant.

376. Unlocking Abundant Life

Jesus promised abundant life in John 10. The enemy comes to rob, kill and destroy. That gives us a clear picture of what happens when we follow the wrong path. You could see that enemy as a personal being, but you could also see the path itself as an enemy. If we continue down that path, it eventually robs us of the abundance Jesus intended. Abundant life is not merely life without end. It is the quality of life we were created to live.

Living from Abundance

The source of that life is a life that sons were intended to live, a life carrying abilities beyond the merely natural. Eternal life was meant to be immortal life, but also abundant life, full of everything abundance carries within it. I believe abundant life is very different from what most people are currently experiencing.

If we choose daily to drink from that source and from no other source, then that source will energise our whole being. It will enable us not only to live without dying, but also to live the abundant kind of life Jesus promised. It becomes a matter of choice.

So how do we do that? Jesus said, “Come and drink.” Whoever drinks this water… Well, what do you do to drink that water? You picture it. You receive it. You choose it. Anyone who says they encountered Jesus and received life from him made a choice to receive that life. It was available, but they still had to choose it. So this is about choosing to focus our intention on a source of life that will never run out.

Relationship Rather Than Fear

But that choice has to become a state of being, not just something we mechanically repeat every day out of fear. Otherwise we start thinking, “I have to keep doing this or I will die.” That becomes fear-based. It becomes works again. This has to remain relational.

When Jesus talked about drinking living water, he was talking about relationship. You can drink natural water or you can come to him as the source of life itself. That is why he spoke about eating his flesh, drinking his blood and eating the bread that came down from heaven. He was speaking about himself.

The seven “I am” statements reveal not only who Jesus is, but who he becomes to us in relationship.

“I am the way, the truth and the life.”

That statement only becomes reality to me when I engage with him relationally as the way, the truth and the life. The same is true of resurrection life. I have to engage it relationally for him to become my source of resurrection and life.

Rivers of Living Water

Jesus also said, “Whoever is thirsty, come to me and drink, and rivers of living water will flow from their innermost being.”

So again, the source is him. What do we do? We come to him. We drink. Whatever that means in practice, we are responsible for engaging it. He is the source that never runs out. When we drink from his presence within us, rivers of living water begin to flow from our innermost being. It is not like repeatedly taking another cup of water. He himself becomes the continual source of our life. As we remain in relationship with him and do not turn to another source, the river within us increases in flow. You choose to drink, and the flow begins.

If we are the temple of the Holy Spirit, then there is an increase in the flow of spirit, life and energy within us. Whether you call it living water, spirit or energy, it is his life within us. John 7 says that Jesus spoke of the Spirit who was with them but not yet in them because he had not yet been glorified. He had not yet returned to heaven to establish the kingdom and give it to the saints of the Most High.

Then in John 14, Jesus said he was going to prepare a place for us so that where he is, we may be also. People often think he was talking about heaven after death, but he was talking about relationship. A few verses later he explains it clearly: “I am in the Father and the Father is in me.”

So he was saying, “I am going to the cross, I will return, and I will bring you into the relationship I have with the Father.” Later in John 14 he says, “On that day you will know that I am in my Father, and you are in me, and I am in you.” That day was resurrection day. When Jesus breathed on his disciples and said, “Receive the Spirit,” he became resurrection life for all mankind. Humanity was made alive in Christ.

God breathed into Adam at the beginning, and now Christ breathes life into the new humanity. All died in Adam, and all are made alive in Christ. That relationship has now been established.

The Flow of Living Water

If we are the temple of the Holy Spirit and God dwells in us, then Ezekiel 37 talks about the flow of water flowing in the temple and from the temple increasing. It can be ankle deep. So we can drink, but the flow only be ankle deep. Or we can drink and the flow becomes knee deep, waist deep, until it is completely flowing with the fullness of energy, life and spirit to bring life wherever it goes.

Because if we are only a receptacle of living water, it will stagnate. It has got to flow to release the energy. If we just drink it and keep it to ourselves, then we either consume it or it stagnates. But it is meant to flow. That is why it says rivers of living water will flow from our innermost being. Not just remain in our innermost being, but flow from it.

The river flows through the gateways of our spirit and soul. If those gateways are not open and flowing, then there is a limit to how much can flow. So you are only going to get ankle deep if the gateways are partially closed. Only a certain amount of energy is allowed through. We need to remain open to the flow.

163. Gateways Open, Flowing Freely

The Core of Our Being

When it speaks of our innermost being, I believe that is not our spirit alone, but the union of spirit, soul and body as we were created to be.

Within that union there is, you could say, an eternal mechanism or technology, if you want to use that term, which turns spirit energy, living water, flowing water, into energy that will never cease. That energy energises our body and releases the powers of eternal life within us.

375. Discover the Secrets of the Merkabah

Ecclesiastes says God has placed eternity in our hearts. I believe that is what it is talking about: the eternal perspective of abundance, life and energy. We have the capacity within us to receive living water and to produce energy from that living water which energises our whole being.

That includes what I would describe as the seven energy gates within us. Just as we have a blood system, a lymphatic system and a nervous system, we also have an energy system designed to be energised by the flow that comes from heaven.

That flow is energised within us and then distributed through our whole being as living energy, light or spirit, however you want to describe it.

Flow, Energy and Creation

Those energy gates are inside us so that we can be energised by what comes as a flowing river.

If you think of hydroelectric power, you have a flowing river that is usually dammed up so there is a huge capacity of water. Then the water flows through gates, through turbines, and produces electricity. It is similar within us. Something is flowing that needs to be focused so it generates increasing amounts of energy through the gateways of our being, which then flows outward.

So there is a lot involved in drinking from the source. It is relational. It is not a formula. It is a relational connection to life that gives us abundance, overflowing life, the abundant life Jesus promised. But we still have a choice regarding where we drink from and what relationship we engage with. Most people are not consciously connecting to the life and energy within them that flows from heaven.

Where does the river of life flow from? From the throne of God, through the tree of life, into us. And that source does not come independently of the tree of life, which you could say is Jesus himself. He is the relational point through which we drink from that source.

The Increasing Flow

The river that flowed through Eden split into four rivers which watered the earth. There is symbolism in that. Rivers produce energy. That can translate into the seven rivers flowing through the seven energy gates, which can also connect symbolically with the seven Spirits of God and the many patterns of seven throughout Scripture.

That flowing energy carries the capacities of sonship and the aspects of God’s character and nature. It energises us in many different ways. So there is a lot to consider in all of this. But I do not think it is complicated. It requires choice and intention until it becomes a state of being.

I have done many things intentionally until they became part of who I am. So I began every day by picturing a door within my spirit and opening that door, because Jesus wants me to choose to open the door and allow him to fill me and let the flow begin.

Then I drink from the source, which is him. He is my source, but I have to allow that source to flow. Otherwise it remains only a trickle, and most people live from a trickle. But that is not enough to sustain eternal life or immortal life. The flow must increase until it brings life wherever it goes. Then we ourselves become a source of life.

Living Beyond Survival

Those rivers are meant to flow through us into creation itself. Creation needs energy to overcome entropy. The laws of thermodynamics say that energy within a system eventually runs down.

Creation itself is drawing energy from what some would call the quantum field, but only in limited ways. Humanity was intended to operate differently, not merely surviving, but drawing creatively from that field and aligning it through intention and choice. Our personal energy, however, is meant to come from relationship with the living source.

So there is interaction between the flow of life that comes from God and the creative field within creation itself. We were designed to connect with those dimensions from the eternal core of our being.

The quality of eternal life and immortality is not merely endless existence. It is the ability to live multidimensionally, non-linearly, unrestricted by time and space, functioning again in the kind of sonship Adam originally carried. Many people think about immortality only as a wish or a hope. They do not really consider its implications.

Jesus said, “Drink.” He also said, “Come to me and find rest.” He did not say, “I will force this on you.” Relationship requires engagement. He is already present. He is already within us. We simply have to connect with him and open ourselves to the flow.

The Purpose of Abundant Life

If we are not going to die, then the real question becomes: how are we going to live? Not dying is not really the issue. Living is the issue. What source are we living from? How are we sustained? What does abundant life actually look like? Abundant life includes health, provision and purpose. Many people retire and then quickly die because they no longer have purpose.

But sonship is our purpose. Co-heirship with creation, co-creation, the ongoing expansion of God’s kingdom and peace — there is much to do when we begin to understand who we really are as sons of God.

And if immortality is real, then we also have to think about the emotional implications. If others around us continue dying because they have not embraced life, there would be sorrow in that. Children, grandchildren, generations. That is why relationship with Jesus remains central. He carries our griefs and sorrows. He remains the relational connection that enables us to live abundantly even in difficult situations.

Immortality is not an isolated idea. It flows from health, abundance and relationship. If someone is sick, miserable, purposeless or mentally incapacitated, why would they want to live forever in that condition? There is much more to this than simply “not dying.”

God wants to bring us into abundance so fully that we actually desire to live forever, functioning as sons within creation, bringing freedom to creation itself. That will require immense energy. Creation groans under corruption and decay. God has given us responsibility within that process. Everything has been provided. We simply have to remain connected to the right source and allow that life to flow outward through us into creation.

So there is a lot to think about. But ultimately, “keep drinking” simply means remaining relationally connected to the right source and allowing that life to continue flowing within us.

Put On Immortality

It is a subject which is becoming quite widespread and more and more people are beginning to engage it. I think the key to it is you cannot just be passive hoping that you are immortal. It says that the mortal puts on immortality. So there is a sense of “well, what do we do to put it on, or be clothed by immortality?” and that it requires our thinking to align with immortality. So, no fear in our thinking, no alignment to aging and death as if inevitability, no alignment to time running out. All the negatives, you know, we have to think of.

You cannot embrace immortality without thinking about the effects of death because death is overcome with life, it is swallowed up in life. So we have got to actually address what is our thinking which needs to change, which has been aligned to death or the inevitability of it, because most of us have been brought up with that inevitability. And in Christian circles, death is seen as a promotion because you get promoted to get the good stuff. We have got to break that mindset and make that mindset disconnected from death so that we can actually embrace, ” why does God want me to be immortal? God has made me immortal, and how can I clothe myself with his intention for me?”

346. Ageing and Immortality

Draw from the Right Source

Which means, how do I draw from the right source, because most people die because they run out of life. It is almost like you are born with an amount of life within a container of your body. There is an amount of life that, as you get older, you are running down that amount of life until eventually there is no life left and you die because you are only drawing from the natural source of life that is within your mortal body.

But if you are drawing from an energy source which is beyond that energy that you have just within your body, and you are drinking from living water as an energy source which is a fountain which is supplying you eternal life, then you are not going to run out of energy – because it is a constant supply of energy which is not that you had when you were born. So we have got to change the source to draw on immortal energy, the energy of God, the life of God, the spirit, all sorts of ways of looking at it. Drinking living water so that rivers of living water are flowing in us.

It is like we were born with a tank and we are drinking from the tank until there is no tank left. Nothing in the tank and the tank is empty, we die. But if we continually be infilled with a flow of life which is coming from beyond the tank, then our tank never needs to actually run out. But it is the source, and we have got to turn to the source. Jesus said, “Anyone who is thirsty, come to me and drink.” Think of thirst being running out of life. We need to turn to a source of eternal life.

506. The Mindset of Immortality | Secret to an Abundant Life

Abundant Life

And immortality is not just ‘not dying’. It is living a quality of life which is the abundant life that Jesus promised. I do not think most people would want to live forever in the state that they are currently in.  They do not want that, but they do not know how to do it.

382. Understanding Immortality | Beyond life and death

And there are changes. We need to find the abundance of life so that that life is a joy to live and we do not want to die because this life is so good. Why would I want to miss out on more of this life? But for a lot of people, the quality of their life is not there. Therefore they see life as something where “eventually, I am going to get a promotion and then I will get the good stuff when I die” because they do not have the abundance now.

So we need to ensure that we have the abundance of life which is love and joy and peace and everything that God intends us to have, and not be robbed, killed or destroyed by the lack of it, which is how the enemy will deceive us into believing that we will inevitably die. So there is a sense where our mind needs to be renewed to a different way of thinking about it, but our being needs to be focused on drawing from a different source.

So we are actively clothing ourselves in immortality or drinking from the right source because we know that we do not have what it takes within our own self to maintain life forever. There is a limitation on what we can draw from the tree of the knowledge of good and evil, if you like. We need to draw from the tree of life, and that source, the tree of life, will never run out.

So there is stuff to think about, you know, in changing thinking, turning our attention to a different source, and then drinking from that source.

396. Finding Balance: Spirit, Soul and Body in Union

Mike Parsons

It’s an interesting thing when you look at the Merkabah, the energy gates, the Sephiroth and the Tree of Life, and how they all relate to spirit, soul and body being fully in union and oneness. It’s not about being pulled one way or the other. I think being out of balance is where the soul is in control and starts taking energy, applying it for its own ends. You could call that a DIY perspective.

God’s built certain basic needs into us—needs He wants to meet, things He wants to provide. But when we’re not looking to Him, we start looking to other people to meet those needs. That’s when we start drawing from them instead of from God, which is out of balance. When the soul is dominant, it can even draw on the energy of the spirit to outwork its own humanistic perspective.

Spirit – Soul Balance

When spirit and soul are balanced, they’re not in tension or pulling against each other; they’re in relationship. Within the body, they work together. Then, when you look at someone else, you’re not looking at them from a selfish or physical perspective. Instead, you see their beauty—that is, who God created them to be. And that beauty could be physical, spiritual, emotional or about their character. There are so many aspects to it.

God wants it all balanced so that spirit and soul are in harmony, not competing. When they’re in balance, the energy flowing between them isn’t corrupted or perverted. It’s not being drawn off independently of our relationship with God. Beauty then becomes about seeing people the way God sees them, not based on what they can do for us or just their physical appearance.

Seeing People Through God’s Lens

When we’re in a balanced place, we can see people as God sees them—looking at their whole being, their aura, even the energy around them. It’s about honouring the person for who they are, who God made them to be. That includes encouraging them, nurturing them, helping meet their needs and seeing beyond the physical.

God meets our five core needs—purpose, security, significance, love and acceptance. But as sons of God, we can also encourage others in their purpose, give them security in our relationships with them, affirm their significance, love them unconditionally and accept them as they are.

A Kingdom Culture

So many people, especially women, feel pressure to look a certain way to gain acceptance. Some even go to extremes, like plastic surgery, to meet those expectations. But in the kingdom, we need a different culture—one where we see beyond the physical to the spirit and soul. We need to demonstrate what it means to honour people for who they really are.

This is where the energies within us—living water from our innermost being—come into play. Spirit and soul need to be in harmony and balance. If they’re off-balance, whether spiritually or emotionally, it affects how we live. You can’t be so spiritually focused that there’s no practical outworking in everyday life. Heavenly things need to be demonstrated on earth—“on earth as it is in heaven.”

Living in Oneness

When spirit, soul and body are in union and harmony, we have the energy we need to be ourselves. That balance comes through renewing our minds, healing our hearts and focusing our energy with the right motive—one of union and oneness with God. It’s about doing things from that balanced perspective, not from a soul-driven or selfish motivation.

When we’re balanced, we can look at someone and see the whole person—their frequency, their aura, their being—and honour who God created them to be. We can bless them with our attitude and approach, seeing them with love and respect. It’s about recognising the beauty and wholeness of the person, just as God intended.

354. Heavenly Home? Revealing Our Sonship to Creation

Mike Parsons explores the profound concept of our true identity as spiritual beings created by God and emphasises that while we exist in a fallen world, we are not defined by it. Instead, our purpose is to reconnect our spirit, soul and body, to restore creation, and reveal our identity as sons of God.

Understanding Our True Identity

We didn’t leave our heavenly home. Heaven isn’t our home; creation is our home, within God. God is our home, if you like. We’ve come out of Him; we are spirit, and we’ve come out of Spirit. We haven’t taken on Satan’s fallen identity. We have come into a realm that has fallen, and our role within that realm is to bring restoration to it. But we are not fallen as Satan fell.

So, we may come into this realm and need to reconnect with ourselves. In this realm, we have to connect spirit, soul and body as a way of understanding that as we are restored, creation will be restored. Creation is waiting and longing for the revealing of the sons of God. So, we need to reveal our sonship to creation, which is why we need to be in this realm connected to all the realms, so that we can be a demonstration of God’s heart and desire within the realms of heaven. “Your kingdom come, your will be done on earth as it is in heaven, in creation as it is in heaven.” But we haven’t taken on the fallen identity of the accuser. We have just entered into a world that was created, in a sense, by Adam and Eve’s choice to be independent. So, it is a world shaped after the Tree of the Knowledge of Good and Evil. As we come into that, we are then to bring it back into relationship with the Tree of Life, if you like.

Reconnecting Spirit, Soul and Body

There is a purpose. The sonship mandate was to overcome and to rule, to have dominion. That dominion has just been taken, through humanism, to mean control, empire, and everything else. So, God wants us to restore the relationship with the sons of God. God created us, not to live in Heaven—that’s not our home—God created us to co-heir and co-create with Him in the whole of creation, and therefore there is a role for that.

Is there a heavenly purification or purging of creation? Well, there is us coming into our identity, which enables creation to be set free into our identity. It’s like creation is longing and waiting for the revealing of the sons of God. But it also talks about creation being set free into the glory of the children of God. As we come into that true sense of our sonship, which is the glory—the weight of who we are—then there is a process for us to have our soul, which has been connected to this realm, aligned to our spirit, which is coming from our identity out of heaven. Of course, there is a renewing of the mind that comes because when we come into this world, although we’re alive in the spirit, our spirit and soul are not connected correctly. That is what bringing us back into wholeness and oneness is about.

The Mandate of Sonship

So, I would encourage you, when you’re looking at things like this, just relax and enjoy becoming the son that God created you to be—becoming the person and listening to the vast sum of His thoughts about you, tuning into the reality of who you really are. That will have a positive effect on creation in that it will be a revealing of your true identity and your role within creation itself.

You are being restored; you are learning to breathe easily again, to find that place where life is flowing through you and in you, and then creation begins to respond to you in your sonship. Now, yes, there is the opposite going on—there are the accusations of the enemy, which will try to keep people from their true identity. But Satan fell because he said, “I will be like God.” Eve bought the lie that she could be like God, but without God. Therefore, the Tree of the Knowledge of Good and Evil is really the choice that man has made to follow independence. Jesus came to enable that independence to come to an end, for the lost identity to be recovered, so that people could fully understand who they really are. Their identity with the world will be redefined through our identity—not with a fallen or broken world, but with the restored desire that God has as the Creator of the world, of creation, so that we can participate with Him in its full restoration.

251. God’s Original Design and Purpose

Mike Parsons
with Jeremy Westcott –

Our minds are constructed from pillars of beliefs and value systems acquired through the experiences of our lives. Those pillars form our worldviews and frame how we interpret the world around us – they are our conscious reality. We see the world through a lens that filters life’s experiences in line with our existing worldview and so perpetuates the status quo. But when we compare them with the Truth, with Jesus, we may well find that those pillars in our minds are lies or false representations of reality.

It is only knowing the Truth by personal experience, and in relationship with God, that will bring us into a new reality in which we can recognise who we are and fulfil our role and position in His kingdom as sons and co-heirs with Jesus.

Pillars removed

I shared with you how God revealed what the pillars were which held up the construct of my mind. Many of them were religious theology or doctrine. Others were from the education system and some from the DIY tree path of self. As you will recall, I asked Him to remove them one at a time; still, when the first one (evangelicalism) was removed, my whole theological belief system began to crumble. Doctrines and theological positions which did not properly reflect God’s love began to be exposed by the light of truth.

I began to see things I never saw before. I am loosely connected to thousands of people on social media, and suddenly I became aware that some of their posts seemed to line up with where God was taking me. It was not that they had only just begun to share those things, but that I had always tuned them out before. I had literally not been able to see them with my previous filters in place. Now I have connected more closely with some of those individuals and we are able to dialogue and share our journey together.

Long held beliefs have been challenged by the experiences of God’s love that encounters with Him brought. My whole relationship with God began to change as more and more of my filters were removed and I started to see everything through the lens of love. God is love. He isn’t anything else. Love always wants the best. So when we see Him do something which does not seem to be love, then our thinking about it must be wrong. Either it is love or it is not God. That will surely begin to defy some of our existing perspectives.

An empty head?

So God was carrying out the deconstruction that I had asked for. I began to wonder, what if I did not have anything there, what would it be like to have an empty head? So I asked “What is going to replace the construct?” This is what He told me:

“Son, let Me form the pathways of the tree of life within the construct of your mind. Let Me reform and connect the ancient paths within your brain so that your consciousness will become unrestricted and your creative potential will not be limited. I must plant new roots within your mind that will be able to flow from the eternal source; let them be entwined as the pathways to truth. As the living word, My relationship with you can now be the first pathway that will become a trunk that supports life.”

So He was promising to develop something in me which was not a construct but something more organic and relational as I engaged with the Source of life Himself. I felt this root system of truth began to form deep in my mind. Something was changing in the way my mind worked so that I would be able to see with a different perspective.

I had already engaged with the tree of life, and some of you may have too.

This picture represents various interconnecting spheres within the tree of life (of course it is not really flat, but multi-dimensional). We will have unique experiences of engaging with it, because the fruit is different for each of us depending on what we need. But I do believe that as you do so it will change the way you perceive and think about everything, right down to the very way your mind functions, just as it has for me.

God’s original design

So why is this deconstruction and renewal so important?

God has given us the power to affect our reality, but that will only be beneficial for us and for others if we are able to affect it from a perspective of truth rather than that of the lies we previously believed. Otherwise we will keep getting more of what we have always got. And that is the problem with thinking – you do not know you are thinking in a particular way, you just do!

“…and that He may send Jesus, the Christ appointed for you, whom heaven must receive until the period of restoration of all things about which God spoke by the mouth of His holy prophets from ancient time” (Acts 3:20-21).

God is looking to restore everything back to its original blueprint design. As His sons, co-heirs in the kingdom, we have a part to play in that. But if we were to continue to see things the way we have always seen them, there would be no scope for them to change; restoration to God’s original plan and purpose would be impossible with the restrictions and limitations within which we have been operating.

We are not going to fix the problem with the same DIY methods that created it. There has to be a different way. We are not going to build embassies of heaven on earth in the way they built at Babel, using human construction materials and techniques, to make a name for themselves. It will not be for ourselves at all, but for the whole of creation, and we will have the ability to construct organically using quantum reality. Most technology that you see today is a development of something God has made in creation; God wants us to go beyond, and even beyond beyond, to creatively call things into existence which are not there at the moment.

Creation’s groan

For the anxious longing of the creation waits eagerly for the revealing of the sons of God (Rom 8:19 NASB). Or, as Francois Du Toit puts it in the Mirror Bible: Our lives now represent the one event every creature anticipates with held breath, standing on tip-toe as it were to witness the unveiling of the sons of God. Can you hear the drum-roll?

Creation is still groaning. So we can be sure that what it is witnessing at the present time is not the fullness of our sonship:

All creation knows that the glorious liberty of the sons of God sets the stage for their own release from decay. We sense the universal agony and pain recorded in history until this very moment. We ourselves feel the grief echo of their groaning within us while we are ready to embrace the original blueprint also of our physical stature to the full consequence of sonship. What we already now participate in as first fruits of the spirit will bloom into a full gathering of the harvest. (Rom 8:21-23 MIR).

God loves the whole cosmos but it is waiting for us to mature as sons. He has chosen us, and given us the responsibility. He is not going to do this for us. He is looking for sons who know the truth, the full reality of who our Father is; sons who see Him as He truly is and see ourselves as we truly are, created in His image.

The first stage of the restoration of all things is that we, the sons of God, return to our original design and blueprint. That is why it is so important that the illusions and delusions under which we have been operating are exposed, so that we can be unplugged from this false reality and plugged into the truth. Only the Truth that I know by experience will free me from being tethered to the earth, the physical realm, and from its rule and bondage.

The Truth desires to release us into the glorious freedom of our sonship as co-heirs of His kingdom.

120. God on the Inside

Mike Parsons
with Jeremy Westcott –

We’re looking to cultivate a relationship of intimacy with God so that we become one spirit with Him.

The Kingdom of Heaven is within us (Luke 17:20-21), and God has come to make His home in us (1 John 3:24). So we can meet with God anytime we want – He is right here inside us. In our hearts, as we saw yesterday, we each have a garden.  Our garden is a secret place we can go to on the inside of us, a place of relationship where we can meet and fellowship with God. We need to cultivate it. And in that garden, in our life, there is a wellspring: a fountain and a river.

We saw this scripture yesterday too:

And her wilderness He will make like Eden,
And her desert like the garden of the Lord;
Joy and gladness will be found in her,
Thanksgiving and sound of a melody.
(Isaiah 51:3).

Perhaps we might feel that inside of us is like a desert. Nothing growing there, no water there, no life. Have you ever seen one of those nature programmes with time-lapse images of how a desert is transformed by just a little rain? Within a few days the whole barren wasteland can be teeming with life, ablaze with colour. How does that happen? There were seeds waiting for water to cause them to germinate and spring into life.

If it feels like a desert, our garden may be just waiting for us to water it. Then ‘joy and gladness will be found in [us], thanksgiving and the sound of a melody’. That is a lovely description of what our lives should be like: the sound of a melody. joining in with the symphony and the harmony of heaven.

Then the Lord God formed man of dust from the ground, and breathed into his nostrils the breath of life; and man became a living being. The Lord God planted a garden toward the east, in Eden; and there He placed the man whom He had formed… Now a river flowed out of Eden to water the garden; and from there it divided and became four rivers. (Gen 2:7-8, 10).

The Bible says of Lucifer, “You were in Eden, the garden of God” (Ezek 28:13). Eden is the garden of God. At this time, heaven and earth were overlapping, and earth was in connection and relationship with the heavenly realms, not separated as it is now. So the garden of God was in Eden and it was the same as the Garden of God in the heavenly realms. Then, it says, He planted another garden, and the water flowed out of Eden (the Garden of God) and watered that garden (which we call the Garden of Eden, the garden that God made for man). The garden God made for man on earth was connected to the Garden of God in heaven, by the River of Life.

They heard the sound of the Lord God walking in the garden in the cool of the day… (Gen 3:8).

Adam walked with God: they enjoyed relationship in His garden, where the Tree of Life was. As a result of Adam and Eve’s sin, that garden and that Tree are now in heaven. Adam and Eve were driven out, and at the east of the garden God stationed cherubim with a flaming sword (they did not have flaming swords in their hands: the flaming sword is a living angelic creature). They were to guard the way to the Tree of Life (Gen 3:24) and stop Adam accessing that realm.

Jesus said, “… whoever drinks of the water that I will give him shall never thirst; but the water that I will give him will become in him a well of water springing up to eternal life” (John 4:14).

Now our lives have become the garden, connected to the Garden of God by the River of Life that is flowing into our lives, watering what was a desert. Our connection to the heavenly realms has been restored.

And rivers are also to flow out of our garden to water the earth, bringing the rule and dominion of God to the rest of the world, to the universe, and beyond.

12. God in the Garden

Mike Parsons –

There is a frequency of sound that is being released from heaven today: God’s voice. John 10:27 says, My sheep hear my voice, I know them and they follow me.’ How many of you are hearing God’s voice? God wants you to hear his voice, and not just in big meetings or when someone’s speaking or when you are reading the Bible; He wants you to hear his voice all the time.

He is speaking all the time: that voice is coming out of heaven and it is the voice of revival, the voice of God calling his people to himself. Look at Ps 42:7, Deep calls to deep at the sound of your waterfalls. That sound from heaven is like a waterfall. It contains all the frequencies of sound. You need frequencies which flow; you need something to move you. Low frequencies vibrate and you can feel them go through you. It is possible to move a house off its foundations using low frequency sound, and that is nothing compared to the sound of God’s voice. God’s voice is powerful, he wants to release his voice so that we can hear it. We looked at this before in Rev 1:15-16: His voice was like the sound of many waters… out of His mouth came a sharp two-edged sword; and His face was like the sun shining in its strength.

God’s voice can sometimes be a voice of love. He comes to woo us, as we sing, drawing us close, letting his love surround us. When we have got to that place where we know the love of God, sometimes the sound of God’s voice changes and he comes to declare the truth.

The sound of revival is about a visitation of God.

Why is God coming the way he is coming in this revival? The answer is, because we are not doing what we should be doing. That is the bottom line. If we were manifesting the presence of God, the Spirit of God and the power of God that is in us, he wouldn’t need to come like that. When we come together, are we coming to receive, or are we coming to release? God wants us so connected with his presence on the inside of us, which is connected to heaven, that it is releasing the sound of heaven through us. ‘On earth as it is in heaven’: the sound of heaven, the light of heaven, the power of heaven would be released through us.

Over the years we know the church has become traditional and institutional and has stopped doing the things they did in the New Testament times. We have looked at how the church spiralled down and went into darkness in the Dark Ages, and how God has been restoring the church ever since, bringing it back to its intended glory, not just the glory of the former house, the New Testament church, but the glory of the latter house, the end-time church that is going to usher in Jesus’ return.

And that church is going to be far more glorious; but who is the church? We are. So who is going to be far more glorious? I said last time that Adam was glorious in the Garden of Eden. I could preach a whole message on the Garden of Eden but let me just pursue this a moment, I will try not to get too far off track…

The Garden of Eden was not the garden of God. Read it carefully and you will see the garden of God was in Eden, and he planted a garden east of Eden, and it was watered from the garden of God. The River of Life flowed from the garden of God into the Garden of Eden, then it came out in four streams that filled the earth.

The Tree of Life was present there and if Adam had eaten of the Tree of Life, his destiny would have been fully revealed to him. We can now eat from the Tree of Life, but not on earth, because the Garden of God went back into heaven after the fall. The River of Life went back into heaven. The Tree of Life went back into heaven. When it was on earth, heaven and earth overlapped and everything from heaven was flowing freely to earth. So God was able to walk with Adam in the cool of the day. He was walking in that place of intimacy and relationship. God breathed the eternal essence of his Spirit into man and he became a living soul, so we are spirit beings first and foremost – and Adam’s spirit was on the outside. He didn’t look the way we do now, he did have a body, but the glory of God clothed him on the outside. He shone. God is going to restore that.

God does not want to restore us to the level of the New Testament church, he wants to take us back to Adam and Eve – and then to mature us into the manifest sons they would have become. They were given a mandate to bring heaven to earth, to manifest heaven on earth, and they walked in intimacy with God and had a relationship with God which was way beyond what most of us have experienced. We are just beginning to experience that too, and God is going to restore it more and more.

God is shouting right now, he is calling HIS church. It belongs to him, it doesn’t belong to us. He sent his Son to die for the church, to establish it. God is calling to his church, he is coming to his church in this visitation, to prepare us. He wants our full attention fixed on Him. He doesn’t want us to be distracted, looking at the signs and wonders, only that they point to him. He doesn’t want us to be looking at the miracles and the healings, only that they point to him. Everything needs to point to him. When we fix our eyes upon him, we are we going to become like him. We will become like the one we behold, transformed from one degree of glory to another, one degree of being like him to another increased measure of being like him, being like the Son.
